ahh id have to say this is actually a nice release..picture looks pretty well, looks like tcf's homemade cams, the sound seems a lil weird...like its not hollow but i can hear like chitter and chat in the background sort of, idk wat it its, but good release, sort of pixelated..i even did the jpg's fast so i dont hear any whining....7/7/x

Great job, ESO. Picture & sound are quite good for a TS, the entire movie is there (at least the end credits), it stays in sync, and it's not too dark. Just about everything one could hope for in a pre-release TS.

I'm starting to see why so many people here like your work.

Damn I couldn't believe my eyes knowning that this is from ESO, It doesn't look like a Silver so maybe they actually have a really CAM source.. it would be nice in the future instead of waiting for ctp, or hoping TCF gives it a try. The colors look good, and for the sound its definatly a CAM because you can here things that you shouldn't with a TS. Still a good release and great for a PRE. The fact that the movie has DMX in it scares me bc he has never been in a good or even a decent movie. So it gets a 7/5/NA from me.

ESOTERiC's best ts ever...
They've always been consistent and dependable to bring the latest stuff, but, their last couple releases (a la Daredevil, Gods & Generals, Kangaroo Jack, Final Destination 2, etc.) haven't been this good. Let's hope they continue this.
As for the release (and not the history of ESOTERiC), this release has a lot of color, isn't that grainy or pixelated, no Blue tint (or for that matter, any tint that's really visible) and nice 5 day (approx.) pre. Sound is definitly "hearable" and there aren't many distractions from hearing the actual movie.
Movie wasn't that good. Jet Li won't ever be Jackie Chan (Jackie Chan's movies usually have some humor) and DMX should stick to improvin' his rap game (and not gettin caught in jail for pot and other stuff).
7/6.5/4

Thumbs up EXCELLENT

Just watched the sample and i have to say well done ESO. This is most definitely one of your best releases. Video is great with excellent color, sound is decent but for a pre TS this is great.

8/6.5/gonna watch it soon for sure!!!

Nice pre....very good video....ok audio, kinda weird sounding though, very hard to describe...but definitley tolerable...9/7/?....Props to the moderators tryin to put an end to the flames...good work

I was really looking forward to this movie when i saw the posters in theatres a while ago but when i saw the trailer it made it look really stupid with tanks and flying and stuff but i dunno maybe it will turn out to be good

this release looks pretty good thought we would get the usual really shitty releases of a movie before we got up to the midranged releases glad to see we skipped the shitty versions of it.

Posted by CraZy on 02-25-2003 04:20 AM:

Nice.

Color and sound are superb.
The blockiness I can do without ...(Filters would have been nice but hey I aint bitchin !)
Actually might have looked good SVCD even, the colors and sound are absolutley outstanding.

You must not have seen many telesyncs, then. Anyway, the release is so-so. Props on the pre, and its a touch higher than ESO's normal releases, but the beginning is real rough, with the camera focusing and all, and the audio sounds a little distorted to me. Oh, and yes, CD2 is pretty out of sync.

5/4/6

Posted by napalmfuzz on 02-25-2003 10:48 AM:

i just got done watching this release.. it wasnt the best telesync ive ever seen by far.. but for sure it was a damn good pre.. and worth the download if you really wana see the movie.. as for desync on cd2.. there is none.. i dunno if youre using standalones or your PC's but i watched and there was absolutely no desynching.. all is well. great pre.. pretty damn good movie.. allthough kiss of the dragon is better.. allthough there was a really unexpected scene in the movie where jet li fights a whole gang of well known motherfuckers.. haha.. awesome

Just got it and watched the sample. I dont know if I am gonna watch this today, or wait till Fri. This is the kind of movie I REALLY like, so I think I am gonna wait till Fri. to see. This is a GREAT release, compared to ESOTERiC's other ones. Much nicer than others they have had in the past. Keep up the good work ESO! You keep releasing these great pre's and you will get lots of respect.
6/5/JET LI SO IT IS A 10!

Posted by Air1 on 02-25-2003 05:36 PM:

no desync whatsoever for me. i stand by my guns at an 8/7/8

the only thing wrong with the audio is the weird way it sounds. definitely not out of sync by any means at all. cd1 or 2 both in sync just fine.

(my 2 cents)

i dunno, jackie chan does put on a good show, jet li is just as good, but sometimes i'd rather have the comedy action rather than just action, i guess im just a humor type of guy

No, you're right...CD2 is out of sync...no doubt about it. Anyone who can't see it just aren't are looking at the lips and listening to the words - they don't match up.

the nfo says 48x15MB per CD, but there's only 37 RAR files per disc? is this just a goof?

cradle 2 the grave

cd 2 was out of synch on my dvd player magnavox
but watched it on the pc and it the sound was out of synch
the first minute or two .

7-6-8 first cd
7-4-8 second cd

will try it in a pioneer and see what happens .

Posted by Lloyd_Banks on 02-27-2003 04:16 AM:

nice release, played fine on my dvd player. Cd 2 was not out of sync. When cd 1 starts he's filming the audience before the lights go out though, thought that was kind of funny.

Posted by pHizZ on 02-28-2003 07:12 AM:

Okay, here's MY deal. I just burned CD2 to a CD-R, and it played out of sync on my standalone player. However, when I appended CD1 and 2, and converted to DVD compliant mpeg, and burned it to DVD, it plays fine. It also starts sort of desynched on my PC, but fixes itself in the first few seconds. I don't know why it's like this, but I think the VCD is messed up... maybe some players fix it automatically, but mine doesn't.

Posted by D4y on 02-28-2003 01:56 PM:

video was pretty pixelated on my phillips standalone. other than that video was good. Audio was descent. cd2 got out of sync for a couple of minutes then it fixed itself. Thanks for the release.
6 (due to pixels-could have been my player)/6/x

Posted by horizonstar on 02-28-2003 11:31 PM:

finally got around to watching this. Excellent quality for a TS. gj, guys. no audio sync problems in either disc when watching the MPEG on my PowerBook.

Video is watchable, fairly good for a TS
Sound is Loud and a bit staticy, Bad for a TS, from first 2 min of cd 1 and first 2 min of cd2 i think it may be mislabeled Cam

Movie looks good haven't watched it yet..

I believe the camera guy was plugging the audio jack into the hearing aid in the beginning of CD1. The audio definitely changes.

Jet Li won the national childrens comp here in the PR China in the early 80's. He didn't beat up a load of adults!

Both Jackie and Jet are classically trained martial artists althought very little of that comes through in their movies. Perhaps the closest would be Jet Li in the classic 'Shaolin Temple' where he musters a few forms...apart from that 99% of 'movie martial arts' are just inventions that look good on camera. Both actors are as versatile as they come but u shouldn't forget that Jackie is somewhat older than Jet...I think Jackie is in his early 50's now. How many 50 year old's do u know who are as athletic as Chan the man?

It's all about personal preferences really...

Re the rls: I've seen this pop up on dvd silver here and going by these posts i think i will grab it later this afternoon. I usually steer clear of cams/ts as i'm not as impatient as I used to be.

The de-synching issue is usually down to the dvd-player not the release. if someone reports that it 'is' all in sync then it must be fine...nu-bz's should try www.vcdhelp.com for more nfo.

Peace...

eM
