Alright, lets get started.

I was getting bored of the regular funny pics at muchosucko.com
when I decided to find some better pics. Pics of funny looking kids always got me laughing. So I hit google images. And What is funnier then Gothic Kids!?

I mean dark and depressed losers that have so called "Boring" and "lonely" lives. I was brought up with TV like most people in North America. And when life gives you shit you mold that shit into a fucking castle or whatever you want.

I admit I have gotten pretty depressed sometimes and I have met some kids that have had there lifes torn apart by many things. Mostly family problems.
But they're not wearing black or anything. They're making the most of life and trying their best.

Just cause life throws shit at you, doesnt mean its time to wear black clothes and try to recreate boy george. I mean what the hell went wrong?

Lets check some pictures out first. I found this site, and I browsed for awhile laughing and crying at how dumb these kids look. But then I started to get a small flame that built up inside me, a flame that got bigger at more pictures I saw.

I am all for the dress as you will and say what you want but well I guess I can only take so much of that crap as the next person.

Why black and why all the makeup? Because people hate it so goddamn much they will get something out of most people.

Of course we do live in a society where you better be willing and ready to back up your actions to the person or persons you just pissed off! !

Being Goth is first a please for attention, and second a stride for "originality", and last to "rebel".

For example, in grade 7, I had a blue mohawk, and a nose ring. The girls actually thought it was the awesomest thing ever because at the time NO one did it. If you dye your hair or mohawk it now you're just following the crowd.

So yeah, the kids are being goth in essence to be original, which they aren't, to rebel, which they aren't, and to get attention, which they do. Being goth isn't cool or original anymore because everyone does it, and if everyone does it, you're no longer rebelling against anything except dead ideals. It still manages to garner a lot of bad lime light though.

Well I know some goth chicks who are hot as hell. Not dudes.

I think the whole goth thing is stupid. but a lot of goth chicks are fucking hot.

I hang around a very diverse crowd. Very little people that many would consider "gothic" I know I would no consider "gothic" at all. I was talking with a lady who sold materials at a festival, the necklaces and such that kids are interested in with the 'eternal life' symbols and such. We were both laughing at many of the people who were wearing all black(I FUCKING HATE THE PHRASE ALL BLACK) And of course the 12 year old whores. She then said something I couldn't agree with more "Goth got just what it always wanted, it died."

I cant speak for everyone but I think alot of the real gothic stuff involved the clubs and industrial scene awhile back. It doesnt exist all that much except for a few hard to find places...All the good ones got shut down where I am =/ Im sure in bigger places such as LA and whatever its easy to find a nice Industrial bar with good people and good music. If you are wondering what all these people made up are its preety much just glam

this may come as a shock to some of you on the board, but i wasnt always the well adjusted person you talk to today...

so when i hear some of you rant about people wearing black or makeup being fags and gay and this and that, i do start to take a little offense...

back in the day i wore nailpolish and eyeliner (highschool era), i wore a gas mask to homecoming, had my lunch box handcuffed to my wrist, and generally did most of what i could to differentiate myself from the redneck jock population of my school.

the whole time i had makeup on, i never sucked a cock, never fucked a guy, and generally enjoyed the attention of the crowd (albeit small crowd) of malternative girls....

today i can look at the goth kids, the "punk" kids, the gangsta kids, the sporty kids, all the kids, and say: "not one original idea in their heads."

not that i was the first boy ever to do what i did, but the first at my school.

guess the point is, everyone's got their clique, or their adolescent idea of what they want to be, fuck it man, let them do it, they'll hit their twenties and sort it out then. till then, why ya gotta call them fags?

makes just as much sense for kids to wear black and claim to be vampires as for white suburban (or in my new area, white rural) kids to wear gang colors and gold medalions and claim to be from the streets.... they want an identity, let them pretend while they can.

Yeah that site made me pretty angry but I was laughing all the way through those pics, why dress like that, why? Goth kids say they arent willing to be conform and want to be different, but all the fucking goth kids look the same, arent they conforming? Im usally calm and dont act out against people just cause their a little different. But those kids are taking it way too far.

I know about 2 cool goth kids. Under all the makeup and weird stuff they're pretty cool kids. Judging by what they wear is not always the best. But those kids at that site are just ridiculous.

there was this one kid tho at my school that would wear lots of weird shit. Goggles when it rains and sometimes skirts. Everyday was different, he wore women's clothes and black capes.

I understand standing up for yourself and just wear what you want and not copying the latest music video. But in this side of the world people judge you like mad.

Why even give these "Goth Kids" thier own category? This is exactly what they want. People to call them "Goth" so then they think they are cool and what not cause they got labled in thier very own social group. If you didn't call them anything to begin with, maybe they wouldn't be dressing the way they are and acting the way they are. I find this whole "Goth" thing stupid. I wanted to try it at one time but it told myself, fuck it, I'm just going to be myself. Shit, "Goth", or "Gothic" how ever you want to say it meant something completly different long ago. So now when you hear the word Goth or Gothic, you relate it to dark clothing, makeup wearing teens, or devilish things. It so stupid! Conclusion

::After bashing gothic kids and reading other people's thought about depressed teenagers. I decided to write a conclusion where I hope to shine some light on these dark souls

After speaking with a "gothic" friend I quickly learnt that she doesnt classify herself as a goth or even "gothic". Which I thought was weird since everyone I know describes goth kids as
kids who are depressed, wear black clothes, and write alot of poetry. My friend I was talking to is all this, but claims shes not "gothic" but infact just herself.

Which leads me to sterotyping. sterotyping to me is when you judge someone before knowing them. You take one look at them and judge them instantly based on:
A. People that looks like them/reminds you of
B. Style of clothing
C. Overall look

When I see a person who wears black clothing, pants and shirt. Have black hair and nailpolish. Thanks to good old TV I categorize
them as goth . Sterotypes start to list in my head.

Goth Sterotypes.(Guide to being Gothic)
1. Depressed.
-usally family problems, ie divorce
-lonely, ie. might feel they are ugly
2. Black Clothing
-its depressing
-makes them look depressed (thats what they want)
3. Poetry
-its easy and anyone can do it
-they can rythm about anything to do with death
4. Suicidal
-Keeps the parents,teachers on their toes
-keeps you guessing, they want attention

Sterotypes are the worst because the goth kids I know are nothing like this. But we live in North America, we have to be "perfect". Sterotypes arent just on goth kids, its for anyone the way you walk,talk, and act. Sterotypes are the worst.
But smart people use it to their advantage. You wear expensive clothing people think highly of you, but then negative sterotypes towards rich kids.
In the movie Catch Me If You Can, the main character dressed like a air lines pilot and stole lots of money and was only 16. He was smart and thought" if I just look like a important person someone is going to cash my cheques."

So wouldnt you want to use sterotypes to your advantage? and not use sterotypes to make people think you are a fag


Why Gothic?

Real depressed kids are really depressed. They usally bottle it up and just keep it to themselves. They dont wear black clothing, they dont listen to music about death and satan. They are normal people. Its normal to be sad and depressed from time to time. Its human.
But "gothic" kids just want everyone to notice, hell they even go out in public like this for everyone to see.

Which makes me believe kids who are "gothic" are not depressed. They just want attention.


But since the sterotypes of them just wanting attention they start to blame their look on other things ::
1. To be Different
2. Not to be a "sheep" and conform
3. The music they listen to influences them

To be Different.
Everyone is different as it is.

Well shouldn't you judge a person on their personality. Not by what they wear? Even a Goth should know that.

If it influences them then they are just trying to find reasons to be depressed. They look for the smallest things so they can be just like their favorite singers. Same with eminem wannabes, they claim they are from the ghetto and they're tuff. But really we all know they couldnt survive in a real ghetto. And I bet you all gothic kids are afraid of dying.

Gothic kids just want attention.

Conclusion

The kids at vampirefreaks.com are just losers that want attention. They look for any reason to be depressed. anything.

So they think maybe if I look sad and depressed someone will notice me.

The reason they cut themselves and act all suicidal, cause they really want attention.

Ive seen that south park episode, probaly one of the reasons why i am writing so much crap about them. Watch that episode it explains alot.



Its hard explaining why guys might want to look like girls and dress like total fags.

Well, personally I like some gothic action on the side Some (And mean only some) of the 'goth' chicks around here are *really* hot. However round here (Ireland) there really is no such thing as being goth as there not much places to shop so people really customise their stuff. I have no problem with how people dress I myself dress what you would call 'hardcore', (think Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge etc, you know the zip top hoodie, the black combats, that cap they seem to always wear, and some, not me though, wear scarves.. If you're from the UK check out the Dillinger Escape Plans' interview in Rock Sound magazine this month to see what I kinda dress like) Anyway enough about me... Back to the 'goths'. Here, anyone under the age of 20 (apparently except for me) has absolutley no idea the name of any true goth bands if you ask them. You will usually get 'fucking MM man!!' or something else to that vein. I nearly attacked the last one I asked that to by screaming at him stuff like "BAUHAUS!! SISTERS OF MERCY!! THE CURE!! YOU FUCKTARD!!" *ahh tiny rant over* But as for hot looks.. If theres black clothing around I'm there..

Im an ex-goth though I never got into the white face makeup so heavily and dressed the way I wanted--ie I didnt put on the fashion parade to shock people so much. Was into Sisters of Mercy big time, Fields of Nephlim and other music. Candyman is right the Old School Goths would have kicked these wusses to the curb.

Often times Clinical depression and Goth go hand in hand. "The kids ARENT alright." When I see a kid now dressed Goth, I think They need some damn Prozac or in my case--a truckload of thyroid pills.

I never dated a goth guy when GOth, (Im talking 80s) I found them all to be whiny. Im sorry but women dont like men who sit around and bawl because they are having a bad hair day. Looks like they have gone even more femmy then the old days.

What is scary to me now is I left goth stuff behind years ago--and seeing people in their THIRTIES WHO DRESS THIS WAY. I havent seen anything more pathetic in my life. I have this EX-friend who is 30 and still wears his freaking black trenchcoat around.

I don't dress goth, i have some friends who do though. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I do dress 'different' though.

I buy stuff that no-one else does. Not ugly shit, but stuff that's not common. I also avoid brands, especially right now Von Dutch.

I've alsways dressed in a slightly 'scruffy' way. Big flared jeans, or tight bootcut jeans. Loud sneakers, original t-shirts or shirts. Sometimes i customise my clothes with badges or fraying or bleaching. Sometimes i make my own t-shirts, in the sense i buy plain t-shirts and design my own prints and get them screened on to a shirt.

I'm all about doing things different, wearing stuff that doesn't make me another sheep in the flock.

Christ, about two days ago, me and my friends went to the movie store. We were standing outside waiting for a friend and we all just happened to have a dark or black t-shirt on. Suddenly two cops pull up quickly and asked what we were doing. We told them, and they told us they got two calls about "troublemakers all wearing black shirts doing some shady things", like that's a decent reason to call the cops. We started kidding around saying that it was the lighting that brought out our bad sides and that were were waiting for a portal into the inner circle of hell or something. The cops left but sat up the hill at the gas station. Cuz who knows what your average gruop of teenagers is gonna do next when a cops around.

We're goin back tomorrow wereing completely black, just to screw around with peoples heads and see if just wearing black makes people angry. Having the ops called on you for doing nothing illegal is the biggest rush we can get in this town.

Okay, I frequent the Vampirefreaks site as well as the chatroom. For the most part these guys you're talking about don't call themselves goths, goths are ancient history dating back to the roman empire. Neo-goths were an 80's thing, the bullshit now is mostly 15yr old kids trying to get attention, they won't stay like that. Jet is not a kid, he's an adult and a DJ. I am most definitely not goth, I don't wear make-up, I don't dress in all black. I don't listen to music that's nothing but crunch chords and screaming. I am agnostic and I do think for myself which is where I don't fit into the normal everyday person role. I'm not a lemming. The majority of the adults that frequent that site and those like it are more like me and less like your stereotype. I don't wear baggy pants with chains, I wear a nice pair of dockers, savane, slate, etc. I'm not walking around in a fishnet shirt, mine is armani, murano, van huesen, or something comparable. I also surf and have a tan. You should really take a closer look at the so-called "goth" thing before you come to your uninformed opinion.

Strange coincidences abound. Funny that I come home and find that this discussion has been revived somewhat.

I was walking home from the store last night and happened to walk past a group of kids hanging out in someones front yard, and as I passed one of them said something and the others started their groupie giggle. I turned and walked up to the fuckers and asked what was their major malfunction. A surly reply was made and I decided to whip out the artillery, figured a small arm was enough, and I asked why all the black clothes.

Sure enough, one of them was stupid enough to reply "We're goths" I laughed and replied that the only thing that they are is a bunch of wanna be losers who think that they are being original and "cool" with their black clothes and trying to be soooo different.

After a few stammers, I finished by informing them that I had not seen a true goth in 10 or 15 years and that those goths would have kicked the shit out of these kids for being unispired assholes without a clue and that they needed to go home, quit being idiots, and for fucksakes quit playing dressup because it is the alleged trendy thing to do.

They all went inside...guess they didn't want to converse afterall.

Fucking unoriginal wannabes suck, no matter what the flavor.

I used to be a goth back in high school, but i grew out of it shortly after then and moved on to be slightly more mature. Someone said that goth died in the late 90s...theyre right, its nothing now. I dont even think there is a place for goths, except high school.
