An excellent release. From what I can see, there is no blue tint to this release and the audio is fine as usual! Keep up the great work, CTP! I saw this in the theater, and it was a great movie.

8/8/8

Sample looks good, sound is above par, seems to have less buzz. 6.5/8/?. :: edit, i burned this beast off. beautiful. 9.9.?

I agree with the .nfo seems they're nearly there, angle on this one seems fine, picture is excellent, and sound is nearly faultless.

Posted by flex0r on 03-16-2003 03:31 PM:

Cool good stuff CTP

wow man, checked the sample on my tv and it was crystal clear, almost fullscreen and sound was ok, definately going to watch this one 8/7/6.5

[edit]i edited movie score because i just watched it, quality was good, sound not yet top notch but good enough and image very nice, though the movie wasn't anything special, nothing gets explained, at the end u're still asking urself why all has happened what u just saw...
but well 2 nice stars with some good knife fighting, all for free, won't go the cinema if i were u [/edit]

Getting better CTP. ALMOST... Just a little more and you can be up to your old releases from the summers. This is almost perfect. Nothing wrong at all. I cant believe you people who complain about SVCD TS's. DV Quality can be up to 520 lines of resoultion. That is more than SVCD (dont take any hints to make DVD-R TS's though) quality. So if they put it down to VCD, it will be worse. Get over it. This group releases the BEST EVER TS's. You can say how TCF got a good one on 8 Mile Internal TS, but it isnt constant. Look over old CTP releases. They are constant great quality TS's.

judging from sample video looks damn straight, audio is real nice too.

I knew u still had it in ya!

7.5/8/?

all u have to do now is rls the new Matrix flix and make all these assfucks eat their words

Posted by rappa on 03-16-2003 03:47 PM:

Damnnn. This release is there best release ever. The colors are better then there old and the sharpness is better too. In my opinion best TS ever so id give it a 10/10/x rofl u may say im dicksucking but u rate against other ts' and this is by far the best one ever. Ill be watching this later and report back on how the movie is.

Edit:: If you don't think this is better i might be able to send you one of there old samples of like scooby doo to compare but i gotta find it, i compared it to spiderman and it had such better color/sharpness.

Final: After watching the movie, i still will say this is the best ts ever, its a little zoomed in but doesn't take away from the picture and the sharpness was unbelievable esepcially for a movie where you needed to see all the LITTLE things. Movie was ok, a little weird but ok. 6.5 i give it....10/10/6.5

Fuck me running CTP owns, the releases from the summer were the best of the best! (lol men in black) But all the releases had the some problem only in bright scenes the quality got sharper and more focused. The end battle scene from Star Wars Episode 2.

This rls is amazing, CTP keep up the amazing work!
8.5/8.5/7.8

This movie really reminds me of Rambo

Very nice, as most have said. Video is crisp and clear, for a telesync. Sound is top notch with very slight noise. Overall, a good release that should keep me happy for 95 minutes.

Posted by m-drew on 03-16-2003 10:23 PM:

Well I think I owe Centropy a personal apology. I used to bash Centropy for making TS releases into the SVCD format.

Still not my favorite format (because my resume function doesnt work on svcds, but only on vcds - lol) anyways, but your releases are beautiful.

I dont burn TS onto CD-R's, because I save my CD-R's for the SVCD DVDRips. I put my CAM/TS onto CDRW's, and my CDRW's are only 74mins, so my mission today is to go and find some 80min CDRW's. Hard to come across here.

I'll find them.

Watched 'Tears of the Sun' from you guys last night, and I was fucking amazed by the quality. Even my mom came in the room, and I told her this was a TS and she couldnt believe me.

So, thanks for the HOT releases, keep up the good work.

Awesome quality/sound. Just like their releases last year I still think their release of spiderman has been their best release ever. I still have it on cd, can barely tell the difference between the dvdrip except i have a widescreen now.

Posted by pHizZ on 03-17-2003 01:18 AM:

Video is great. The color is sharp, crisp, and bright(er than most of CTP's releases). However, there IS a slight angle, but it's not really noticeable. You can tell not only by the text on the screen, but also in the upper left hand corner.

Audio is great, typical Centropy quality.

Great release, I rate this a 9/9/7.

Should have been labled proper...

CTP good release reminds me of yalls count of monte and yalls Blade Nothing to gripe about for free at VHS qual HELL YEah.. Buit oh well will be watching this wendsday at the movies. it is welll worth it. Nice fight scenes. .

Posted by Phlag on 03-17-2003 02:03 AM:

I knew I wasn't the only one who noticed the slight angle. It's even noticable in the sample JPG (top left).
Regardless of the angle, which isn't noticable 99% of the time, this is still the best TS of the year and then some.

Disk 1 is good all the way through,, and its not BLUE !! yay

And you can here what they are saying with this release..

7.5/8/7

Posted by m-drew on 03-17-2003 12:03 PM:

I just finished watching this release.

I couldnt stand the movie, and this rip was zoomed in a bit too much and on a slant. The audio seemed like it needed a bit more Trebble to it, or less bass. Overal, it was very watchable and much better then the GSN release.

Posted by vcdflow on 03-17-2003 02:34 PM:

Indeed

Movie went good with the wifey last night, even had some bass going through the surroud sound. Keep it up CTP

Posted by SainT on 03-17-2003 03:00 PM:

Lightbulb

Welp after eviewing the whole movie i must say its getting better.
Colors are little blured. Audio slightly hissy and to much bass. Just as a sugestion i think ctp needs a good wide angle lens and good seat instead of hiding the cam to get a crazy angle. All in all very nice. Keep up the good work.

Posted by Davy on 03-17-2003 03:25 PM:

I just finished watching CD1, the movie itself seems a bit boring for my liking, slow etc, but the quality is amazing!
a very slight angle/tilt, no blue-ness (anyone else get why CTP's intro played "Eiffel 65 - Blue" ? ) Sound is amazing, Video is equally good. I tried to think of a critisism so i'm not just appearing to kiss-ass, the only thing i could think of is that some of the text appears slightly off-screen, but its not a big deal as you know what it says anyway.

Its not allowed to post 10/10/? so i'll have to post 9.5/9.5/4 (4 based on CD1 only).

Posted by petrocs on 03-17-2003 03:31 PM:

very nice..I will be brief..

Quality is great..picture is very clear and sound is superb

9/9/? Gonna watch this tonight

holy shit, hardly noticeable that this is cammed. Sample looks better than anything out before.
9/9/?

will grab whole thing just because of great quality

EDIT: after skipping thru CD1 ive to say that my ratings were probably too high. still "blue", bad angle...well looks like every other ctp, just the scene which was shown in the sample looks very good. rest is ok. new ratings: 6,5/8/?

Actually, there IS a significant amount missing from either side.

http://phizzrocks.ultravolt.net/text.jpg

Here are optimal audio settings for the movie. The bass is heavy because of a slight buzz, but its barely noticable.

I'm an avid fan of CTP/TCF/UTi TS's but I always try to give the most honest reviews about the releases instead of being bias or in other words "cock riding". This is definitely a great release quality wise but their are numberous flaws with it. The angle is kinda wierd but not as bad as tears of the sun, the image is kinda tilted, sound has a slight muffle and buzz, and the image is heavily cropped (probably why the aspect ratio is so off), it's not grainy but still pixelates during high motion scenes (maybe only 2 pass vbr?), other than those I would think this is a great TS. Not the best of all time like people are claiming but definitely good. Great job CTP, 8/8/5

Posted by culov on 03-18-2003 12:55 AM:

damn... one of ctps best svcd ts'. 9/9/?

Posted by sooka on 03-18-2003 01:28 AM:

! ! i know i'm not the only one who noticed that voice in the intro, after the song "blue" finishes, but can someone please tell me what it's saying ? is it an inside Centropy joke that we aint to know, if not, please tell

and person who asked about svcd's in wmp, i got elecard svcd codec ( or somethin like that, try vcdhelp.com ) which works for me. i'd rather use winDVD though. maybe its just me who gets that little white block in the top right when playing svcd's in wmp ? :|

anyways, whats the voice say ?!

::The voice is chinese and says one group to rule them all.

ahhhh.. thanks, shoulda guessed that

Posted by XCheMiCal on 03-18-2003 03:30 PM:

I just watched the whole thing the quality was pretty good better then any ts out right now. But if they are going for perfection like they say they are from the nfo they need to get a better angle a wide shot that doesn't cut part of the movie and that buzz off the sound other then that its perfect TS.

8.5/7.5/7.5 Good stuff

Erm obvously they are still testing. I would think the group who encoded it would know the obvious flaws in their OWN matrial.
Usally when you do something your self, you would know what mistakes you make/made. Even it it appears perfect. Perfect is a made up word- no such thing. Man made= flaws. Machines= man made etc. There will always be flaws in even the best looking releases- compromises almost always have t be made with everything.

Posted by strandville on 03-18-2003 09:26 PM:

Very good release in terms of picture quality, mine has a few sound glitches (skips in places) may have been the burn. Have to say though that boy would give rambo a run for his money the movie is

Posted by lorddusty on 03-19-2003 08:32 PM:

Pic: Very clear without a flicker but too zoomed in, I imagine 20% of the picture is being cropped, very slight tilt and angled from stage left.
Sound: Slight hiss, understandable as this is a bitch to remove from test-jack signal.
Movie: My review

Overall, not bad 9/8/6

all i can say is that me and me m8 chris r happy that centropy r back,i mean look at some of the first and second releases of film since they disappear,i rest my case-ya cannot knock wot ya dont pay for,and check out the standards the hav set themselves now
keep up the good work lads

Posted by dank! on 03-20-2003 03:42 AM:

video is top notch clairity wise...but theres a tinge of that silly fish-eye angle to it...i'd give it an 8 for quality but a 5 for angle, and settle on a 7.

audio is muffled a tid, not much, a little hollowness, not alot, again ill say 7

movie? nice and short, entertaining but nothing new...6

Posted by mak7 on 03-20-2003 06:31 AM:

the release is great but i watched the movie today its pretty bad, copy of a copy of a copy, i mean he goes into the forest looking for the guy without even a knife, just so that he can make his own knife, this was alittle too much for me !!! also this should have been called U.S marshalls 2 !!!!!!

Posted by Bud-man on 03-20-2003 03:51 PM:

8.9? isnt this a lil high?.....only movies worth that score are dvd screeners...movie is vast improvement over the last release but no a 8.9...low 7's tops, fighting scene is blurry, sound a 7.5

Posted by pHo on 03-20-2003 04:43 PM:

scores are relative to the format... ie a 6/10 dvdrip will still be better than an 8/10 Telesync.

Simply amazing sharp picture great sound but a slight nagle still great though 9/8.5/? need to watch this

Posted by Pra3t0 on 03-22-2003 05:08 AM:

VIDEO: Whoever did the transfer did an okay job cropping the Widescreen to Full-Screen video. Some intro credits and subs were chopped but... oh well. There -IS- a slight angle problem present, but it's only noticeable in a few scenes.

AUDIO: Great.

MOVIE (spoilers): Enjoyed it, but ugh. This is such a ripoff of Rambo: First Blood! And not even nearly as good. Tommy Lee Jones even quoted some lines that were taken almost directly from Rambo, such as "You're gonna need a lot of bodybags" and "He's my boy. I trained him...", etc. At least in Rambo you could relate to Stallone's character. But in this film, Benecio Del Toro is a certified psycho whacked out nutjob. Carving people up like the Predator creature. So instead of rooting for him, you WANT him to get caught. And Tommy Lee Jones looks like he's on his last leg. It's laughable that this old f-ck would be an even match for Del Toro. I can't really recommend this one. Just rent Rambo.

8/9/7

Posted by frak on 03-23-2003 10:28 AM:

almost through disc 2 right now...

the quality is great, so is the sound. However, the angle is a
tad annoying. CTP needs to move out of the front row already -
it's the only bad part of these releases (tears of the sun being the other).
