For a first release its not bad but i have seen better ts from mvs and better russian sources. If ya cant wait then d/l it,..but for me its just below my standards

From 2 rars and sample:

Goodness. There is some pixilation, colors a little washed out and a very slight flicker. Resolution OK for a cam. TS sound is fine.

Overall a completely watchable release. What can you say about this group. First Spidey 3 and now this both on the day they opened. Definitely the crème of the crème.

6.5/7.5/?

Have watched it all. Video a little better then the sample and rars indicated. Change rating from 6.5 to 7. Movie not as good as the first two. Not enough of Capt. Jack. 7

Posted by MonsterMetal on 05-26-2007 03:26 AM:

This unfortunately very subpar for this group.
After viewing the first 30 minutes now on my 21 inch monitor at various screen sizes, this copy should be skipped.. call it blocky, ghosting or whatever, the pixels look like they r bursting out, kinda like rain drops falling on ur windshield.. many parts hint at overly cropped and colors r brite enough (one dark scene aside) but browns and yellow is abundant.. audio is better than i expected not the greatest but i dont mind it..

i really hope this looks a lot less bursting on my regular big screen tv, cause from what i seen and what iv read, maybe quality is being overhyped.. hopefully it gets better

Posted by Horton on 05-26-2007 03:46 AM:

VERY. VERY. VERY. pixelated. CANNOT stress this enough. during any motion scenes it goes into extreme pixelation, its over saturated and its too bright. but then again, its a TS and it just opened. Thank you russians for producing more fine work, thank you mvs for dubbing it and killing it in the process.

I have to agree with you on everything you said.

I want to know why mVs acts like they are cock of the walk, but yet the only thing they supply is audio. Russians do all the work mVs supplies some audio and yet they're greeted like gods.

Whatever I guess....

Horton's rating summarizes this release perfectly like 97% of the time.

I think you guys need to upgrade your computers, I've just finished watching it on my TV from my PC and the quality is extremely good,

video doesn't look to bad when played on the TV
audio seems to have deep bass sounds intact but not other bass like gun shots

converted using winaviconverter i converted it for dvd. played said dvd on a wal mart special cheap dvd player

with that said i am just about 30 mins into it past the opening action sequence i have found no video glitches that were refered to earlier (yet), the pixelation during the opening battle were not that bad on teh tv i was watching it on granted its not a 50inch tv but a more budget minded 24inch (i think )that sound seems to go down when loud explosions are happening not sure if that is to cut down on distortion and feedback during that loud scenes.after 30 mins i would still consider this watchable the color pallette is a bit off but not tot he point of ruining it.

For a quick release it's good, definitely watchable. But I know how people are with movies like this. The quality must be spectacular before they will even view it. If you are one of those people, avoid. It looks too cropped, video is definitely pixelated/blocky, colors aren't too strong and picture could be sharper. Sound on the other hand is very good.

Not too shabby. Yeah, there is pixelation, but definitely watchable. Good Audio as well. Awesome movie, saw it in the theater.

Only gripe is, though, they cut off the scene after the final credits, though. I don't get that. You go to the trouble of getting all the credits, then just stop there? Not that big a deal anyway, but...

the filmer took allllll that time and went through the entire credits... just to leave out the final scene, after the credits, that explains something rather important...

i watched this all way on tv and apart from a few small focus problems now and again this is a very good rlse considering the rlse speed. Very good for a TS so soon.

Considering the lack of good TS's the last year or more, i dont know how ppl can complain about this rlse. I dont take sides either way with grps and judge merely on the rlse, but russian sourced videos or not mVs definately rlsing the best english TS's at the moment.

If we get a decent rlse like this 1 of any recent theatre rlse, we should be greatfull in todays climate.

I agree, there are a number of spots where the focus goes bad, mostly in dark scenes. In brightly lit scenes, it is great to watch. OK, the camera has issues. The section about 30 min in is foggy, and the fog pixilates, especially the right side of the screen. But overall, its a good first, and watchable on the 37" WS.
Sound is good. Movie is enjoyable.

yes the movies OAR is 2.35:1 but all the camera was able to get was about 1.89:1 so thats what they encoded it at.

that is an interesting point about the noise in the sample. the snor could be passed off as one of the freaks on the boat but that did sound like a very short gigle thats not in the movie

So should VCDQ just pack up and close LOL

It always fascinates me when people give 'the above quote'
on a part of a forum (or site) where you are SURPOSED
to comment on, and rate a release lol retard.

oh, and btw they don't 'do it for themselves'
otherwise why put it on the net?

they do it for the props & to beat other groups (& hopefully be the best) also for FUN.
Ultimately WE DO IT BECAUSE WE CAN.

Also some members of gropes DO read this and other forums
to see how well (or not) their release is received.
Some stick to their channels.

Anyways, Cam'ing is one thing, but syncing audio isn't so easy.

BIG CONGRATS to mVn for a Very nice release.

Unlike i would say 90% of the comments here regarding the Audio
I watched the COMPLETE movie BEFORE posting a comment here.

if this audio is 'cam' then I'm a monkeys uncle.
I watched the thing on a laptop (@3am) with 'in-ear' headphones (so not to disturb Mrs Dailey)

I can say with 99% certainty its Direct audio.

In fact when the scene came up (from the sample)
all background audio was from extras in that scene.

At one point in the movie you hear a slight 'hummm' sound like when you put your finger on a RCA cable as you plug it into an amp.
you don't get this with 'cam' audio.

Anyway, to add to my previous rateing, i must say
this is one of the best TS's we've seen in a long time.

PS. when people comment on 'watching it on a 42" plasma'
I think they 'may' be referring to the quality of picture when displayed on such a large screen,
and how it looks good or not as a large screen is rather more Unforgiving than a 14" portable TV in the kitchen.
I don't however think they are 'only' boasting about there TV size.
however, i can see why owners of said 14" portable TV's would think that

Yeah its skips about .0.1 seconds of sound about 4 times in the film but it doesn't lose sync and the picture has no glitches or pixelation from what I see

And mine was converted to MPEG 1 and burned off to watch on a PS3...

Posted by LurkinHawk on 05-29-2007 02:09 AM:

Really beginning to wonder if there are two mVs releases, based on the divisions in this thread.

v - 8 color palette a bit off, only remembering one slight skip, and not really seeing the pixellation that has so many atwitter.

a - 7 here my comment is that I can't tell if the problems I have with my ears picking up the audio are release specific or recording specific (I haven't understood more than two of Jack's lines in 3 films combined). One tick off for the audio not kicking in for almost a minute at the start, and disappearing just into the credits at the end.

m - 6 overall, a few marvelous performances (Rush, Nighy, and Richards) but nothing else I'd gather myself to watch over and over.

Watched this 3 times now, once outside on a projector (8' screen), once on a 60" 4:3 TV and once on my 19" monitor.

V:7 - Little pixelated, little bright and washed out, minor camera focus problems, but overall very watchable.
A:7 - Direct audio, no low bass in cannon fire, few gaps in sound throughout (I think 4 or 5 times, each time for 1 second or so, doesn't lose sync though)
M:7 - Thought it was enjoyable enough to watch 3 times this weekend. Definately better than #2 but not as good as #1. A lot of stuff to follow and keep track of in this movie.

No reason to nuke it.
If you want glitch free movies, wait for the DVD to come out and buy it.

Again very nice job on this good quality, very fast release mVs. your work is appreciated. the video is pretty good quality. i didnt notice too much blockiness in this one...even in the action sequences it wasnt bad at all. very clear for first release. now one thing i did notice about the video was that it went out of focus a few times, but only for a couple seconds each time. not bad enough to stop watching it. if i remember correctly, i did notice one glitch in the video but hey, i got no complaints because this is undoubtedly a very watchable release. the audio is very good on this one. its nice and clear and full too. it seems to be synced very nicely b/c everything is spot on, i didnt notice any misses at all. got some good bass too and not tinny at all. sounded great on my pc's surround sound system. the movie itself was kind of a let down to me. i mean, dont get me wrong, it was good, but i guess i was expecting this one to be more than what it was....based on the previous ones and the previews for this one. but none the less still a very enjoyable film. thx for all the hard work u guys put in all the time mVs and keep em coming.

the quality is really good though, more power! hope to get a full version of the movie though!

:MOD EDIT: ..did you forget to watch the second file in the release?? -V
