What's with Cydoor?

Everytime I come to either vdquality or the forums, I have Cydoor Technologies try to connect to my machine. What's with that and who is that?

for the nth time, the moderators and administrators do not control or impose any spyware or adware.

the advertising banners that you see at the top of the screen are channeled through a third party ad company. using a non IE browser will handle 75% of your problems, using a firewall will handle the rest.

anyone want to add something to that effect to the FAQ or rules sticky?

Cydoor comes with all sorts of shit. The best bet (and pretty much what Dr Zoidy said) is to run a Spyware removal program, get your copy of windows up-to-date, get a good popup blocker/switch browser/turn off activex (your choice) - personally I browse using Maxthon but Firefox or Opera are just as effective at blocking shit.
