There's sticky threads at on this forum explaining most of the stuff you need but because I'm in such a good mood today: Download the latest STABLE xvid codec from here: http://www.koepi.org/xvid.shtml and it should play fine.

Neversoft - Hope your still in a good mood. I have been having the same problem. I read most of the stuff in the stickies (thought I read it all, but if it covered these files then I missed it). I downloaded the codec because I was getting a file that had hdtv.xvid-lol files.

The codec does nothing for me. Media player, divx, nothing will let me watch this file, and I can't figure what I am doing wrong. Even google gives me 3,491 containing xvid-lol (0.07 seconds), but they all point to somethingother than what I am looking for.

HDTV was the format is was recorded from, dont worry about that, Xvid will work for those files, LOL is the TV group who released the file.
