So, this thread isn't really going to serve a purpose other than to let me boast about my excellent christmas present, talk about the games I have and want and probably gripe about how fucking impossible it is to buy peripherals for the bastard at the moment (GRRRRR!)

Thus far I have the following:

Wii + Wii sports (fantastic multi-player games despite them being a "bit basic" - instantly addictive and a great intro to the Wii)
Zelda: Twilight Princess (eating more of my time than my chronic weed smoking does, and that IS an achievment! Lo-res graphics but still gorgeous and gameplay spilling out of its arsehole, this game is fantastic)
Rayman: Raving Rabbids (Great graphics and nuttier than squirrel shit but short-lived and little replay value once completed. Easily one of the funniest games I've ever played but better as a rental than a purchase... I'll probably be trading the blighter in in a few weeks)
Super Monkey Ball (The mini games are crap but the main game is as great as ever. Not really had much time to play with it cos I'm either busy playing Wii Sports or Zelda but I'll get around to it eventually)
Wii Play (bought it cos I needed a Wiimote anyway and for a fiver extra I got a disk with some naff games on it. The Billiards is quite good and I like the Laser Hockey although nobody else seems to. It would be crap on its own but I can't complain for the price)

Also, we've just bought a Hi-def TV so I've ordered the component cables for the Wii. Other than that, I don't have much more on my Wii shopping list right now but I'll probably be picking the following up ASAP:

2 more Wiimotes and 3 nunchucks (couldn't get the nunchuck for my 2nd Wiimote and I kinda want one... Sucks that they're not bundled together but I understand Nintendo intends on doing all sorts of attachments for the Wiimote so I'm not suprised)
Call of Duty 3 (I want an FPS and this one sucks the least out of the ones available)
Mario Galaxies (I can't help it, I love Mario games)
Metroid (not a fan of previous Metroid games but the Wii one looks great)
Resident Evil (Looks awesome... and creepy!)
Warioware (more multiplayer madness... JOY!)

So then you slags, anybody else got a Wii and feel like contributing to this thread or simply partaking in a circle-jerk?

Gahhhh... I asked for a Wii from the missus for xmas but changed my mind as I wanted to wait to see what the feedback was like and whether there were any problems with it. Fucking wish I'd got one now based on what everyone's been saying.

Never mind, it's my birthday in Feb so I'll make sure I get one then - even if I have to whore Shn out to all the French twinks to raise the money.

I too am now the proud owner of a wii which i am currently using to type out this message. Not quite sure why as it's hurting my wrist and my pc is just next to me!

i have mine too....woke up boxing day sore as fuck from playing baseball.

red steel is pretty shit, unresponsive and too much slowdown and jerkyness.

also have Resident Evil 4, purchased from fleabay for 20 notes (and a GC controller for a tenner). Fucking awesome, although i havent played it too much as i dont have a GC memory card (unless ive missed something, gc games can only be saved on a gc card, which kinda sucks).

Raving rabbids is just fucking stupid and fantastic at the same time.

And Zelda is just too good.

Thought i was pretty good at scrolling shoot'em ups till i started playing R-Type and realising i have the eye/hand co-ordination of a 90 year old with alzheimers.

also had to buy a new router as mine wasnt compatible. Try falling asleep with the weather channel on, the music is more soothing than suckling Sophie Howards ample bosoms.
