Laptop wireless security.
What is a good way to protect yourself using a wireless conection? I just got dsl.....should have kept cable. And I am running my laptop off of a 2wire wireless connection.
For the average home user (You):
WEP or WPA with MAC filtering to allow ONLY those machines you have to connect. Turn off SSID broadcast as well.
The best wireless security is to make your router a wireless switch and let a central server provide the security

Doesn't 2WIRE automatically have a wep key unique to your modem that is printed on a sticker on the side of it? When I had one it was like that.
Here I use wep and mac filtering, no problems at all.

lol if someone can get past both wep and mac filtering they can use my router, I really don't care.
