Computer Fuck Up

alright guys, having a bit of a problem with my comp...its wont let me view certain sites (like vcd) and it wont let me type on other sites (so as to log in) and i cant run wmp...and it keeps saying 'bootsafe.exe' can not be found when i try and run the prog.

i have downloaded a couple bits of software...which i admit i didnt virus check...none of them installed properly.

tried to run CCleaner and it gives me a runtime error '0' but thats not much help to me...i cant seem to restore either it is turned on..but i cant find the place to do it...

i know this is probably a very messy question and not much use...but seriously any help woudl be nice!

have you tried loading your operating disk and hitting "repair",
its good for corrupt system files.

Shit, that DOES sound fucked... The System Restore doohickey is in START>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore but I very much doubt it will work.

My advice? Download Clamwin and Hijackfree... Reboot into safe mode and try to un-cunt your PC.

I think it's reasonably safe to say that your PC is infected with some shit though, you might be better off with a reinstall if you're a bit of a tech spazz (unless you know somebody who isn't a tech spazz).

tbh i think i am gonna do a fresh install...been meaning to do it for ages so i can get my music progs in the right place and stuff!

Download a small great program called HijackThis. Run a scan and save the log. Post the contents of the log here and we'll tell you what's there that shouldn't be!

Actually, HijackFree by Emsi Software does the same job but waaaaaay better
