Xbox 360. Windows media center
I've linked my 360 to PC with windows media center but it won't play avis.
Any solutions?
Also I've not got media center remote control so how do I pause play etc with 360 control pad?

Wouldn't bother too much with using WMP11, it's a picky bastard at the best of times - plenty of 3rd party solutions out there.
Your pad works the same way, use A to pause/play, Y to bring up the onscreen menu, buffer buttons to skip back and forth.
If you have a DLNA certified media drive that'd be a much easier option. Avi files should play fine with the MP4 update - very few of mine refused to play. If in doubt chuck them on a pen drive and try them out that way.
I linked the xbox to PC so i didn't have to burn DVDs or use memory stick.
Seems to be working fine now.

I guess your PC makes far less noise than mine does

I have mine in a cabinet which has a heat-regulated fan in the back. I keep my PS3 in there too, and the PS3 makes far more noise than the 360 seems to - that said I almost always run games from the HDD to keep the noise down.
My PC on the other hand is right next to the sofa so all I can hear is the "ultra quiet" PSU running while I'm downloading. That's why I bought the LinkStation to run media from so that I could minimise the disruption. Next step will be to get a Kiss DVD/Media player for the bedroom once I have some cash.
