judging by sample:

9/8/?

Video is pretty damn good. No problems from here except video seems to be on a SLIGHT angle. Colours are good. Audio isnt perfect but no major problems. Movie looks quite promising aswell. Will change rating if needed after I watch the movie tonight.

Major props to VideoCD!

just watched the sample.

very nice. just a little blurry but that's really my only complaint. colors are quite nice, widescreen.. definately among the best and recent videocd releases.

for a ts:

video: 9.5 (about as good as a TS can get but i think videocd's Garfield, for example, was a tad better.

audio: 10 (as good as a TS can get)

movie: will finally be watching it

Normal VideoCD Quality the sample started off with a little motion blur then quickly fixed... The Sound is perfect the video is pretty damn good Nice ending to the Sample lol I always love girls in bikinis at a car wash

ok first of all even if it was DTS that doesnt necessary mean its good.

Its just a way of encoding audio into 6 channels.

Second you cant have DTS on a SVCD.. or if you could the video quality would be horrible because dts takes up a huge amount of space.

and third they say nothing about this released being dts in the nfo.

To clear up the audio confusion: It's most likely sourced from the theater's DD 5.1 sound, so even though it's not 5.1 surround on the release, it's good quality because of the perfect source.

The video isn't bad at all either so,

8.5/10/?

Standard for VideoCD. At 2:53, on CD1, the camera goes screwy and offcenter for awhile.

erm no, the source is most likely dts, DD monitor jacks dont put out that good of sound and videocd and a few other groups lately have jumped on the DTS bandwagon as it delivers the best sound and is easy to get ahold of (syncing it is much more difficult though)...

as for the rls (sample on tv): this one has a slight flicker and a little motion blurring, audio is perfect.

7.5/9/5 - the only funny parts of this movie for me were people getting hit by wrenches and balls,

Posted by thuggland on 06-21-2004 10:59 AM:

Very good rls. Wish people in the US could do this. We's too scare! J/K Anyway this is my score...

8 video very clear only like a few seconds of out of frame issues
9 sound it almost as good as any
7 movie was good, I'll like it better on DVD though with Extras.

BTW, One of the funniest part of this movie is not on this RLS.
The part at the end of the credits...my milkshake...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...funny shit...ANYWAY guess we have to wait for a proper rls or you know...get yall lazy asses off the computer and spend 30 bucks. HAHAHA that shit was funny my milkshakes...

Posted by frak on 06-21-2004 11:11 AM:

saw this one in the theater - the videocd release of it is great
(comparing to the big screen).

video is excellent - as it's been in all their recent releases and
the audio. These guys are off the hook these days.

movie wasn't as funny as I had expected - the trailer really showed most all the funny scenes - less a few cameos that
were pretty funny.

video: 8
audio: 8.5
movie :7

Posted by EclipseGSX on 06-21-2004 01:44 PM:

This is a very good TS in all respects. There is a bit of a flicker throughout the whole movie, but it's not very noticeable. Sound is impeccable... I'm not a big fan of how it starts though (jumping right into the movie). I prefer when there's the lead-in so you know you're not missing anything.

Judging as a TS -
Video: 8
Audio: 9.5

Movie: ?, but looks funny.

Posted by thredworm on 06-21-2004 01:48 PM:

Yet another release from videocd that's almost as perfect as you could get for a TS. Video is great, audio sweet and the movie was funny as fuck. Was worried that it would be complete dog dick but it's pretty damn good.

Props to videocd once again.

Saw this at the theater. It had its moments. Quick question though. Did VideoCD include the scene that plays at the end of the credits? That's probably the funniest scene in the whole movie.

Posted by digitalproduct on 06-21-2004 05:30 PM:

grrr grrr great rls , saw this last night on my tv , only flaw was the credits in begining were in french i believe and when hasselhoff was speaking the subs were also not in english , also a slight film movement in the begining but i cant complain very good quality for coming out friday and audio was nice and clean.

8/8/10 - very freakin funny

Watched the whole rls.

Seems to be on a slight angle also some scenes have french subs in them making the movie incomprehensible.

Audio was superb though (CD1 seemed quieter than CD2 though) and besides the angle and slight cut off, pic was excellent.

As for the movie, it was funny in places, but most of the jokes just sucked. The dodgeball action itself was excellent though.

Overall a pretty fun movie, but not as good as Old School etc.

7/7/6

7/8/7

This movie was pretty good. Some of the jokes werent really that funny but other than that I liked the dodgeball action. This may just be me but on cd2 when White walked up to that girls porch it lost sync there for a Minute. Like I said tho this might just be me. All in all the pic was pretty good and the audio was nice Thanks for all the GREAT releases VideoCD and keep it up! Yall ROCK

i'd say the french subbing only makes one 5 sec scene hard to understand, and as its not really important to the plot its not a big deal. it can be a pain with other movies, but it wasn't a prob with this one.

sound n pic were fine, agree with the motion blurring but as its a comedy its not gonna be a problem at all. movie was really good, as usual... ben stillers character annoys the hell out of me for the first 5 mins then it grows on me massively (just like zoolander). vince vaughn plays it straight (as ever, not much variation from his acting, but always funny) and does a good job.

bloody short mind!

cameos were really funny, and i love vince vaughns style of acting, he makes everything seem funny without trying.

Posted by I am X on 06-22-2004 04:16 AM:

Ok, I was watching the beginning and was amazed at the level of video clarity. Then all of a sudden about 1 minute, 45 seconds into the movie, the clarity shifted to slightly blurry and faded. Not a LOT, just a tad, barely noticeable unless you're paying close attention..... But I WAS paying close attention. The "ultra clear" clarity at the beginning never came back. I was dissappointed from that point on. Whoever decided to make that change while filming was drunk or high. They actually DEGRADED the clarity of the movie by doing that. At about 2m:49s, the camera goes off angle for a couple seconds, then gets put back on. At 38:47 a side view of some guy pops up on the left side of the screen.
I thought the movie was stupid and shallow. I would've never PAID to see a movie like this, but since it was #1 at the theaters this weekend, I decided to see what the hoopla was all about. DUMB MOVIE.

Video 6.8 (could have easily been an 8.5 if the person didn't make that video "correction" in the beginning).

Audio 9

Movie 3.5

Don't like it, or the occasional head, or missing credits, then wait for the damn DVD. These are TELESYNCS, not retail releases. Y'all babies be spoiled. VideoCD has pretty much mastered the TS, but they don't magically become DVD's when they're pre'd.

Anyways...another top notch TS from VideoCD. Audio is perfect. Video is close.

i'm getting sick of half you retards posting about these movies when you HAVEN"T EVEN WATCHED THE FULL RELEASE.

based on this release:

Vid- 8, quality is solid for a TS and motion (in action scenes) isn't as bad as some TS SVCDS i've seen.

Audio- Excellent, NO buzz, clean.

Movie- 7, I imagine its a zoolander deal where the more i watch it the funnier it becomes.

THERE ARE 2 CULPRITS WITH THIS RELEASE:

1. PIC IS OFF CENTER (CAMERA IS POINTED TOO FAR TO THE LEFT)

2. DUNNO IF ANYONE NOTICED BUT CD1-CD2 TRANSITION SEEMS TO BE MISSING ABOUT A MIN OF FOOTAGE PROALLY DA TAPE SWAP

Cool Just my two cents...

First, I wish people would watch the whole movie before posting in here. It just makes sense people. Why watch the clip or (Yes, people have done it) look at the pictures for the video/audio quality ratings. Just a pet peeve. I'll learn to deal

Also, yeah, I noticed the beginning was missing. Dont know how much. Didn't seem to be much at all... maybe 10 seconds or so but it was no biggie.

Video - 8 - Video was a tad bit tilted though I couldn't really tell unless there was some text or something up there that was all straightedged. Overall the Video was really good. The tiny most too bright but that can be adjusted so no point taken off or anything. The main reason for keeping this from a 10 is the beginning seems to be missing a little bit and the switch between CD 1 and 2 seems to be missing ((again)) about 4-5 seconds. Small quibbles for sure. Absolutely watchable.

Audio - 10 - What can you say? The audio was absolutely wonderful. No hollow sounds, no hissing, no popping, unbelievable sound. Really, it was remarkable. Not much else to say about it

Movie - 10 - The funniest movie I've seen since Bad Santa folks. The fact they can take something like Dodgeball and make a movie out of it is one thing but to make it interesting and literally LOL funny is another. I will definately be going to see this in the theaters with the Mrs.

Overall 8-10-10 - Get this release. Enough said.

Posted by brandon_ae on 06-23-2004 06:15 PM:

the right side is cut off a lil throughout the entire movie correct?

during the opening credits I noticed the X missing on FOX and a few other words were chopped, I never noticed this being corrected, did any1 else?

I'm looking forward to there White Chicks release next (hopefully)

First post - Hey everyone

Anyway I rate it 8/8/7

Very good picture and audio, at the start it does spew out to the left, but that aint really a big thing. Only thing I would have liked would be for the credits just so I could hear the music (I like that you see) but it aint that big a deal either.

For the movie itself, very funny in parts but a tad slow in others. Not one of my favs for the year but def up there.

I'm not trying to diss CTP ; VideoCD is rolling through 2004 pulling everything in its wake. Great job you crazy French Outlawz!

This movie was hardly funny enough for the quality cast involved.
Those who rated it a '10' must've thought Eurotrip was the 'Animal House' of the 21st century. Geez...

The picture quality is very good and so is the sound. But on about 3 minutes a pretty huge black border apears on the left hand side of the screen and stays for several seconds. Then it reduces to a smaller black border that sits there for another 30 seconds. Later on you can see the shadow of a man sitting down that obscures quite a large part of the screen. Even with the general picture and sound quality I don't see how anyone could consider this a great release or call the picture perfect.. that bewilders me frankly.

Picture - 8 (would be 9 without those small mistakes)
Sound - 9
Movie - 8.5

Anway, besides the little camera movement in the very begining (which they apologised for in the nfo ) and the French? subititles for when the German team was talking, the video was good quality and I didn't notice any problems with the sound.

8/9/9

Very funny movie.....
THE BEST DODGEBALL MOVIE EVER

Posted by I am X on 07-02-2004 06:27 AM:

Definitely among VideoCD'S better quality work. I've seen them do better, but not much. Only problem was that this had that damn slight brown hue to it. Much slighter than some of the other recent releases. Once again, I cleaned that up with TMPGEnc Plus and turned the quality up a notch. Movie itself was quite stupid, with some funny parts I'll admit, I did laugh on some parts, but when this hits DVD, I won't be adding it to my personal collection.

Video - 7.5 (I turned it into an easy 8.5 with TMPGEnc Plus)

Audio - 9 (The audio was CLEAN)

Movie - 6.5

Video is on the whole very good, but it's a little left-of-centre, and the camera pans to the left for a second near the beginning.
Audio is sweet
The rls misses what looks like a second or two at the beginning and I'm told there's some funny stuff after this cuts off.
I haven't laughed out loud so much previewing on the PC since Shrek 2; it's a great movie. Worth a visit to the fleapit, for sure.
