The Amityville Horror *SVCD* - TELESYNC - SAOSIN

Wow really quite nice, not much at fault on this rls, for vid there's no flicker, colors look great, cropping and angle are perfect as well. Audio is pretty decent no hiss or anything like that (just the right and left channel are the same)

8/8/?

Flawless.. another great TS by SAOSiN, the sample probly wasnt the best part of the movie to do because of the "old looking" video thing, still, looks and sounds great.

SAOSiN is ROCKIN!!

crop, colors, audio, sync, are all spot on.

If I were forced to nit-pick I would say it's a bit blurry, but hell for a TS it's very clear.

From Sample

The picture is brilliant, not seen any dark scenes yet but going on previous releases should be excellent. The sound is good cant complain, as long as it is direct and I can hear it I am happy.

Some lesser groups would try to pass this off a TC and major congrats go to SAOSIN for making such great TS's lately, Hope they last. Maybe people will now finally forget about CTP.

From the sample, very nice quality, no overcropping, everything is clear and it looks sharp enough, the only blurry bits are the bits in the sample were its supposed to be old home movie footage, and even that looks good, so well done guys, you did it again.

Sound is the usual, servicable mono track.

No offense, but you cannot compare a TS release against a DVD screener/rip. The marks received can only be for the quality of the format it's in. So a TS should be able to get a 10...as a TS.
Has this happened before on VCD ? A TS or Cam getting a 10 ?

Great work SAOSIN...as ususal.

....for me a great ts would take 8, a telecine would take 9 and a dvdrip/dvdscr would take 10..

There is a somewhat different ratings system amongst VCDQ members, some do it like you, and others (like myself) rate a TS out of 10 based on OTHER TS. Otherwise, the bestest TS ever would score a 5 when compared to the DVD Rip. Besides, not all DVD's automatically warrant a 10, if you had a nice TV you would/should know. As for this release, very nice indeed, both ausio and video a little above even SAOSIN's Par, but the movie itself looks like a typical Michael Bay P.O.S.

I don't care if all of you put 8's and 9's. I'm going 10 all the way. If anyone can make a better TS than this I'd like to see it.

SAOSiN, I can't wait to see your release of Episode III. Thanks in advance!!!

dunno what to say here really. video is fine, audio is fine, movie is a piece of flaming dog shit.

no problems with video - no people standing up, clear, little to no blur (only really noticeable if people are running) and audio is fine. no hiss i could notice.

Movie was awful. there was no jodie the pig like the first remake, and it as total and utter trash. unrealistic, overly dramatic, and id have to actually say AVOID it..

correct me if im wrong, but your supposed to rate a ts against other ts's, so saying a ts wont get above an 8 a bit 'tardish

anouther great release by SAOSIN

Posted by immun3 on 04-17-2005 09:37 PM:

Saosin's run continues unabated

Video - Lovely work, can't add much to what has already been said. Minor blur, and is cropped but not overcropped, this can be seen in the first .rar's with missing title sequence to the left hand side. Overall though great job

Audio - no problems, well synced as per usual.

8.5/9/10

Posted by LOLobo on 04-17-2005 09:41 PM:

Hearing some "not bad" things about this movie... Some good jumps to take the GF to.

Video is not as high as everyone is rating. Definite crop and angle to the right, but clear, which is most important.

Good audio and so far completely in sync (which wouldn't be a problem anyways ).

Well I finally got this to work, but very awesome release, compared to most it's definitely one of the best keep up the good work!

On certain parts though it is a bit fuzzy and dark, but still the audio is great and so is the overall quality.

Try PowerDVD , WinDVD , VLC media player

All 3 should work , make sure you have a mpeg2 (SVCD) codec installed also.

Posted by randy54 on 04-18-2005 10:42 AM:

this is a top notch release by a top notch group, keep doing your thing saosin

Posted by fluffinator on 04-18-2005 12:55 PM:

divx player is not going to play a bin of a vcd or svcd, no matter how bad you want it to.

Either burn the disks off and watch on a stand alone, or use vcdgear, pul lthe mpegs off and watch with media player.

Personally, i use VLC player (video lan player) no codecs requried and you can drag and drop bins right into it.

That or mount with daemon tools and watch with powerDVD or WinDVD.

props on an almost perfect TS.

v=9 (slight blurr, barely noticable tilt/crop)
a=8 mono but still perfect and in sync
m=7 fairly good movie, not at all scarey, but it follows the original story(the one thats true) fairly close. Good saturday night date movie

p.s. no sound problems on mine at all, and the crop and angle only comes into play with text on screen, like the dates are a little cutoff.

you don't miss a thing.

Movie was good, nice pic, nice sound

And for any of you who actually care, the location in the movie is total BS.. In the movie the house was in the country, and on a huge lake, and IRL, the house is on a Canal, a tiny one at that, and in a residential area, even in the 70's.

http://www.findadeath.com/funstuff/...from%20road.JPG

http://www.findadeath.com/funstuff/...the%20river.JPG

And if I recall, the boat house in the movie is to the left, but it's actually on the right irl.

very very nice ts from SAOSiN. it seems VERY slightly dark to me but its still very watchable, even on the darkest scenes.

there seems to be a slight trapeziod effect to the screen at the very start, on that logo (like it was filmed while sitting too close to the screen) but like i said, still very watchable and u cannot notice it once it gets going.

Overall,

Vid: 9 (one of the best ive seen, amazing color)

Audio: 9.5 (not dts, but very clear with good bass)

Movie: 9 (one of the best horrors ive seen)

this group has got to be doing the best TS releases. ive never seen such good quality
