4gb card will hold a shit load of games.
I have a 2gb and i think there is just over 40 on it at the moment.

obviuosly depends on the size of the file as some games are over the 100mb

I was refering to the compatibility list Yoshi with the wii backup loader.
There isn't that many backups that work and the ones that do have a lot of glitches so that is the reason i am waiting until a more stable one appears.
I'll just use me old xbox for the old stuff.
I've still got a modded gamecube aswell.

Time for a Neversoft FACT-O-RAMA!!

Waninkoko did abandon the project after the leak but he's since suggested he'll continue to work on it but another coder has incorporated the loader into GCOS so you can also patch videomodes etc, hence the increased compatability. However the games only run at 3x speed so video tends to stutter and some games don't work at all yet. You also need to re-dump the games in a decrypted form but that *may* be only temporary until the next release.

GBATemp has all the lowdown on it, including a list of working games. I think you can also get the loader, cIOS and DVD library from there (which is everything you need if you already have the HBC installed).

I'd still recommend you just fucking hardware mod it... If you don't know what you're doing, pay somebody that does. Or buy a pre-soldered drive and shove that in and sell your old one on eGay to some cunt who's already fried their drive and needs another.

I don't fancy sending it away to get done to be honest.
The time i pay postage and all that probably cost me about £80 or something.

£80 is the going rate around here anyway, even if you walk into the shop and hand the Wii over the counter... Some Wii's can be a twat to mod though, especially the ones with pins cut or 10 litres of epoxy poured onto the chips.

Why not check out your local pikey car boot sales? Quite often there will be some dodgy cunt selling copies and chipping consoles... Although if you buy any copies from those work-shy fucks I'll hunt you down and kill you

or if your only a half retard buy a Wii clip with your flavour of chip attached. Only just over £40 and as as long your intelligent enough to undo a dozen or so screws the bastard clips in!

Simple:

1. Do NOT install any software updates from a disk from another region.
2. Do NOT install custom channels other than the homebrew channel. Launch all other homebrew via that.
3. Keep an eye on the various Wii forums and let somebody else experiment on their Wii before you install new apps/hacks on yours

ok, here we go...

1. The USBGecko for the Wii is a doohickey that plugs into the GC memory card slot (I think, I don't have one) and allows you to debug the Wii via a USB cable and a PC; take screenshots, search for Action Replay-style cheats etc... You don't need one unless you intend on doing some serious tinkering under the hood.

2. You basically extract the M3 firmware and dump the SYSTEM folder on your MSD card, then you create an NDS folder and shove your roms up that... Although I'd recommend this unofficial triple-boot firmware for the M3 instead, it uses the much prettier Sakura firmware (the sister card of the M3) - http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=90978

Dunno what FAT32lib is but I guess NDSMovie is for creating Moonshell .dpg files for movie playback on the DS.

NS, I downloaded that 3 boot thingy

I put the 4gb Kingston into the usb, I then removed the 4gb and placed it into the m3

I then placed it into the ds and presto

now how do i go from here, as in making a folder for nds files and so forth

and how do I explain to my 6year old how to read Chinese and navigate the thing

I have another problem now, I have used the usb and 4gb to do all this via removable disk (j)

so its picking up the usb but not the 4gb?

now when i put in the usb...it says to insert disk

how do I flush or what do I have to do to get the usb+4gb to be acknowledged by my pc

I have rebooted numerous times to no avail.

Any tips ?

No, the M3 ALWAYS boots from the card so leave the system folder there. I'm not sure about the M3 software though cos the triple-boot Sakura works fine in English for me and boots to the NDS folder (well, it boots to a list of recently used roms but the main list is just a click away).

Check the options on the M3 software, it might have an option to default to your main games list... I'm not sure though.

I'd check for you but my DS is sat on my desk at work at the moment

nah, the twilight hack only uses the actual game and the use of the sd card slot

Check the model # of your wii for the correct chip.....I went solderless and did it myself.....a piece of piss it was.

They have started shipping out a newer wii which at this present time but wont be for long, cant be modded via the chip

ok i got the channel installed but i got no games(thqt i know of) and i cant connect to the homebrew browser v0.2.4....is this cause im not connected to the internet?....do i have to manually put games on my sd card?

Put games on your SD card? As far as I know you can only play Emulators and Virtual Console games from the SD. You do not need the Internet for anything. You did the hack already, that should have been my first question...

The Homebrew Browser requires an internet connection ZL. As for the rest of it, put a WAD installer in your apps folder so you can install Wii Shop rips. I wouldn't advise installing any homebrew WAD files though cos if they didn't build the WAD correctly your Wii is toast

Emulators go in the Apps folder and the roms wherever the emu tells you to put em.

Finally, unless your Wii is chipped have a look on GBATemp.net for some decent backup loader software (I think WiiGator is the latest but my Wii is chipped so I dunno... http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=108959 and http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=114247) the latest loaders don't require the ISO to be patched/decrypted but I *think* they still run the disks slower than a normal modchip so you'll get longer load times and some video/audio may fuck up.

As for the wad, install the wiigator channel. Nice and safe and makes it slightly handier to start games.

The Homebrew channel is for launching homebrew you have in the SD\Apps folder. The Homebrew Browser is for downloading apps to that folder if you're too shit to do it yourself

Sometimes people convert software intended for the Homebrew Channel into WAD files so you can install the software as a channel itself, this is normally a terrible idea cos it's updated often and *can* brick your Wii - although I can see the appeal of a WiiGator channel for quickly launching backups.

Think of a WAD file as an installer file for channels. Wiiware is released as WAD files for example (as well as the aforementioned "custom" channels). Sounds like somebody has wrapped the WiiGator homebrew program into a WAD file as well... Use that bitch at your own discretion

P.S. You're right, if you already have the Homebrew Channel installed you don't need Zelda any more.

Apparently 3.3u is similar to 3.4, so it looks like you'll have to downgrade. It's simple enough to do, but you'll have to hook ur wii up to the internet.

Press "A" on the Wii Remote once.
The Wii should detect a SD Card.
Press "A" again to see a list of WADs on the SD Card.
Use the "D-Pad" to select "IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad".
Press "+" to install the WAD.
Once installed, press the "Home" button, to restart you Wii.

Step 4:
Using "The Homebrew Channel", open “Custom Manager".
Using the same method as in "Step 3", install the "cIOS_Fix.wad".
Once installed, press the "Home" button, to restart you Wii.

Note:
If that fails to install, just use “WAD Manager” to install it like in the youtube video.

Step 5:
Using the ‘Homebrew Channel’, open ‘IOS Downgrader’. Just follow the instructions on the screen and wait until it finishes installing the necessary IOSs.

STEP 6:
Using "The Homebrew Channel", open "Install Shop IOS51".
Use the "D-Pad" to select "Yes", and install "IOS51", by pressing "A".
Use the "D-Pad" to select "Yes", and install the IOS Patch, by pressing "A".
Use the "D-Pad" to select "No", and DO NOT install the "Wii Shop Channel".

Step 7:
Using the ‘Homebrew Channel’, open ‘WAD Manager ’. Install ‘WAD MANAGER 1.3’.

Step 8:
The Wii is now able to install WADs and Homebrew Apps should work properly now.

Optional Step:
If you use “WiiGator” or the “Backup Loader”, using the Homebrew Channel, install ‘cIOS Installer’. This updates the ‘cIOS_Fix’ that was previously installed.

Only use 3.3. And install Wiigator Gamma 0.3 and the Homebrew Channel of course. From the Homebrew Channel you can access your SNES/NES/MAME/Genesis/etc Emulators (as well as your WAD loader and many other things: Movie player, and all that fun stuff). There is nothing wrong with loading WADS if you have installed everything correctly. I hope that you downloaded an up-to-date pack.

Plus, when burning game you can use DVD+/-R. The only difference when burning is you to have to change the booktype for DVD+R. Simple, simple.

Edit: Wiigator is preferred. Like I have said before, it has played any/every game that I have thrown at it.

Want to play back-ups from USB

I've used TDK/Memorex (DVD-R/+R) and they work great. If you choose to use +R, just make sure to change the booktype.
