Personally I dont like VideoCD (the group) and general SVCD releases of screeners. But I got to say UTi is pretty lame in releasing a dupe with stupid reasons as proper. They lost a race, deal with that....
Last thing we need is for groups releasing for the sake of releasing. (or to keep their affils)
quote:SVCD isn't always better than VCD for some sources, sometimes SVCD can show artifacts because it's alot sharper than VCD. The softening of MPEG-1 sometimes helps on VHS sources unless the group uses noise reduction filters on their SVCD's which I doubt VideoCD would do since it was probably a VHS to DVDR transfer they used to encode from. Someone was passing the vob sample around online before VideoCD unleashed their rip but nevertheless a release is a release.

LOL its from same source, and since its vcd it looks worse, so how is it much nicer?
Kudos to UTi for releasing their version, even if it was after VideoCD's rls. This isn't just about a friken race, its also about who can release the best quality, and if UTi has a better quality release, but slightly slower, good on em for releasing it!!
