Another brilliant instantCopy release. Even the subs turn on automaticly. All extras included (trailers) to play checkers on your TV.

1/10/?

FUGLY

quality of the movie is great. the moron above me is just a dumbass. the trailers are not that great of quality, but the movie itself is by far up to par with other releases. subs didn't turn on for me in any of my standalone dvd players or on my pc using power dvd...

subs not really needed this is a great release..nice to see a widescreen. I have the full screen by teaperaty or however you spell it. A few days ago. And this is a nice release..

This is in no way an instantcopy one, it's a perfect encode. Thanks!

(btw I guess the jackass above has no clue, Reign is actually one of the 1-2 groups in scene who is capable of remastering DVD menu by hand so better quality movie fits.)

Posted by preefer on 05-01-2004 10:28 PM:

who in their right might would choose to KEEP the previews (which are for lame disney movies) while removing the extras? this is stupid.

bitrate appears to be in the 3500k/s area, without the "sneak peaks" it could have been 4000. (or the worthwhile extras could have been included)

also, subtitles came on automatically.

and the dvd structure is non-compliant and unfixable in ifoedit.

so yeah, I'd say there's a few problems with this release. other than that, great movie.

There is NO WAY to remaster a menu without a program like instantcopy. You would have way too many headaches and errors if you did it BY HAND , and quite frankly I couldnt even imagine doing it BY HAND. Please enlighten us..

Sheesh! Too many n00bs in here.

HOLY SHIT. This is garbage!!! This release ranks amongst the worst releases ever...

Let's start.

1) VIDEO_TS.VOB is 308,042KB... View the VOB. IT'S BLACK SCREEN NOTHINGNESS!!! I see the FBI warnings flash by in the first second, but that's it. This is first piece of proof that nobody actually looked at this release.

2) Previews. I saw Aladdin when I was 10 years old. I don't need a fucking reminder! What a waste of 417 megs! Previews are useless.

3) The video is bad (approx 3100kbit/sec). I am sure on most of your 27" TVs or 17" monitors this looked "great". However when you step up to a 60"+ screen (projector or TV) you'll get a wiff of the shit quality.

In summary. This is a GOOD movie. I like hockey and this was one I was waiting for. Reign really should NOT have made this release and left it up to aNBc or DZN or ANYONE else. This release sucked.

At least I saw the movie, and I'll either make my own rip (which I recommend to anyone), or buy it (which I might actually do and save myself the 8 hours of encoding, etc...)

Video 5/10 - Heck, it's still DVD quality, but I bet you a far cry from the original. 3100kbit/sec on video does NOT cut it. This movie (135 mins) needs ALL the bitrate it can spare. Can't afford to waste it on 320 megs of black screen and 418 megs of animate childrens movie trailers.

Audio */10 - Well, it's audio. I am assuming it is NOT downsampled. But you know, I don't trust Reign right now.

DVD-R 1/10 - This was a bonehead release. Approximate 750 megs of quality was sacrificed on a 135 min movie.
