Newbie question on nero
OK just been using nero to make up films. I got some plug-ins for scvd and mpeg2 encoder. I have been happy with the films that have come out. However, ive just got an xvid of coach carter. My first problem was that nero kept on frezzing when i made chapters and managed to create image with no audio. So i got advised to use the nero patch and also got an ogg codec and ac3 filter codec (both of which, i really dont know what they do!!!). However, with these installed i can now make chapters for my xvid. The only problem being is i still get no sound when i burn? I even plsyed the nrg image in nero show time and still have the same result. I'm no genius but im guessing i need some kind of codec or another plug-in for nero. If someone could advise me i would really appreciate it.
nero
i personally dont like nero so i dont use it.but you say its divx, then try a program called vso divx to dvd....works great and retains a good quality of the flick, good luck
or winavi....
nero takes to damn long. with vso or winavi it will take 20-50 mins max depending on your pc ;-)

yeh i agree with previous 2 posts. nero is good for presentation but i didnt think the quality wasnt up to par and it takes AGES to convert, and when its converting, yr pc's goin too damn slow.
win avi or VSO are good because they are fast and better quality than nero
(by the way im talking about NeroVision Xpress, i hope you were)
nero is great for burning, that's all i do with it. i have had trouble with winavi. working on everything, saying it needed codecs when i knew they were installed. [get g-spot] you need it to see what's missing. i have a love-hate with Dr. DivX but use it if i have lots of time like when i'm asleep. you can do lots more with it without having to set up blind ,when you click modify settings you can change resolution-aspect ratio-and - crop and have a screen showing the effect before you encode, you can also set the size before hand ,like 1 file 700 mbs.[Dr. DivX makes DivX only] another program most do not speak of i ended up with somehow is Ashampoo movie shrink and burn if your'e in a hurry and want the movie file ready for the DVD player it will do it in one pass with DivX-4 codecs [the free public version codecs] DivX -5 are better [in dr. DivX] Ashampoo lets you set the size also before hand scans the file and gives you a idea of what to expect in the outcome of the encode [poor, good ,or great] according to the size you type in so you can set size a little larger to improve the outcome. you can also set it with one click to encode to vcd, svcd,DivX, quicktime, WMV.for DvD players ,the PC, or PDAs.

i guess calling me an idiot would be fair. the winavi thing got me off on the DivX thing, re reading the post ,think we started of with XviD and turned it into DivX somehow, i'm still a CD freak, they cost less and most downloads are made for them. works for me. and philips 642.
Ashampoo will do the DVD thing
