what the hell is up with deity? propering for quality is pretty much all this amounts too...

diamonds release is perfectly allright for a movie of this quality. it does NOT require 5.1 ac3 audio, and the picture quality is fine... and as for a 2 hour movie not being acceptable on 1 cd? come on, if the audio sounds great, the picture looks fine (which it does on the diamond release) and there are no ar or cropping issues, then there shouldn't be any need to re-release it. i didn't see deity proper diamonds emily rose release... (2 hours, 1cd, perfect quality)

i find it interesting that deity seems to be 'all about the quality', yet chose to 'proper' an action movie (doom - which was propered again, for 'quality' basically) that could benifit from a 2cd ac3 release, as a crap 1 cd rip, and in the same day, 'proper' a slow boring movie that only really needs 1 cd, as a 2cd ac3 release...

so yeah, it may be the 'rules', but if common sense prevailed, this is the version that should be nuked, not diamonds perfectly ok one... what happened deity? why so petty?

ok, right, now that thats out of the way, the release...

9/9/2 - audio and video quality are at overkill levels for this film. good quality, but pointless release.

If I have a choice, 1CD-Rip or 2Cd-Rip, I definitely go for the 2CD-Rip cause of higher video bitrate and better sound (AC3).

Guys, the world is in progress, the internet connections become faster, anybody in the meantime owns a dvdburner and more and more dolby digital equipment, so I don't understand these outdated 1CD rules ...

Posted by chiv on 01-22-2006 02:33 PM:

perhaps, but this isn't about rules really... deity are just incredibly sore losers. they lost the race to release this, so made up some bs crap so that they could do their release.

and yeah 2 cd releases will ALWAYS be better quality, but sometimes, movies JUST-DONT-NEED-IT, and this film is a prime example of that. its not an action film, it doesn't have fast intense sequences that would benifit from the enlarged resolution, it doesn't have an audio track worthy of the full surround treatment (yeah, it might be a matter of opinion, but really, be honest... compare this to, say, dooms soundtrack... another deity 'proper'...), diamond was right to release it as 1cd... its not like the quality was neglected or anything, the 1 cd rlz was perfectly good quality.

Wait. What...?

Movies are somehow graded for quality requirements based on their theme? Do people still use CDs for movies?

Keep sending the 'proper' releases FFS - we're in the 21st century boys - suggest you act like it...
