video is very nice, maybe even a bit better than their others. also pissed off coz i only got round to downloading the TS-STiNKER copy and burning to disc, which i now gotta replace!

v 9 (very nice, clear, no visable pixelation, minimal amount of artifacts, only prob is the usual where the blacks look slightly grey)

a 8 (usual filtered capture from FM radio drive in, good but a slight hiss and a hint of overfiltering in places)

m ? (still havent watched, waiting to go and see on big screen)

Anybody got any more news on the DVDScr, I dont wanna download the whole TC if DVDScr will be around in the next few days.

Audio seems to have a slight echo to it, and is very bassy to say its a TC.

Ok, I'm currently watching on my standalone (DVP642) - Sony Trinitron (27inch, newer model).

Video (8) - Yes, the video seems to be cropped a bit more than average but doesn't bother me AT ALL. I've seen this movie in theatres and if you've been waiting for a real watchable copy, this is it. I notice some small black square looking objects on black/dark areas but I get that with all my divx/xvid format movies that I play on my standalone and in this copy, they are alot less noticeable than say the recent maVen Harry Potter Xvid, which I noticed them alot more, but it was also a "TS" source or whatever so maybe that's the deal, I don't know, I'm not very release saavvy, etc. The colors are very vibrant for me, no adjustments needed on the television.

Audo (7) - Volume seems to spike at times, overwhelms the speakers a little but nothing major, doesn't distort. I do notice a slight hiss with my volume all the way UP but having it that high isn't nessacary at all. All dialogue, effects, etc are all easily heard with the volume at a reasonable level.

Movie (8/maybe 9) Yeah, I liked it alot, kept me entertained the whole three hours. Some say they got sleepy, beats me.

I've seen some 7's for video, I really don't understand unless you are that picky on cropping which in that case, it's free, you could go do it yourself, or pay to go see it?

This is definitely not a re-encode of any previously available release. Video and audio are much better than the stinker release (props to stinker for how fast they got their release out).

And I'd say it was cropped correctly. The trailer was released in a different aspect ratio than the finished film. 2.35:1 versus 1.85:1. Good job by Asteroids.

This is a good release. The video is fairly colorful and doesn't seem to have motion blur (which it shouldn't), although blacks aren't very well defined.

For me this IS the best rls to date if you have not yet seen this movie then grab this rls!

Hopefully this mess with the DVDSCR gets cleared up soon, as I would like to get that one if it's actually real, but I grabbed this one for now...

V: 8 - had lots of artifacts and is slightly over-cropped. Very watchable though and is the best copy available at the moment.

A: 7 - Not bad, yet not good... Has some distortion in places from overfiltering.

M: n/a - Will watch full tomorrow...

Great TC, nice to see some quality popping back up now and then. Asteroids has really proven themselves in my mind atleast.

Very very watchable, slight cropping and yes, you can easily tell the audio is probably from a drive in fm source, but it's not as bad as it could be.

haxe read comments on here, and seems a few havent watched this imo.

video is nice... yes it is cropeed, but not so you would notice... black pixelation occurs on very dark scenes...... but generally nice.

audio has at least 3 sync issues... but only for a minute of so each time then comes together again, and yes there is a hiss some peole are talking about..... not so much of an audio hiss, but almost like its been filmed in a wind tunnel !

movie...... well im sure im going against the grain here, but i found this movie average if that... starts off like a wierd black comedy...... and just too drawn out...... special effects are a bit suspect to say the least...... keep and eye on the size of the girl when kong first has her.... one minute she is as big as his head, then smaller than his palm, so either this dood has hands bigger than his plastic head, or the consistency of the animation is way off....

A=8. Little hiss, now and then, that's it. No sync issues for me.

M=7. The first 50 minutes feld like Titanic, in short. Special Effects were great.

Nice picture, sound is clear though not so great on a dvd (did notice sync was out for about 30 secs on cd 2). First half of the movie was boring as hell. Second half was fantastic.

Can I also point out the aspect ratio is perefct in this film, I know crop is such that you lose a tiny bit from top and bottom changing film AR to 2.35>2.66. However, by the Universal globe at the start it has a perfect aspect ratio. Finally, groups have started using calculators to work out crop/AR values rather than just guessing. Well done ASTERiODS.

first off movie was great this release was great except th audio that was pure crap. fix the sound and this would be a great release oh and the dvd screener i seen that it is out for the award use only.

This release is cropped pretty bad, but not enough for it to be entirely noticable. The apparent DVDSCR (which I am in the process of downloading right now to see if it is infact real) has an aspect of 1.80:1 which seems odd. Why would the screener cover more screen than the actual movie. The only thing I can think of is either they cropped the sides so that it would be 16:9 on a WS TV or the actual film was soft matted. I have no clue.
