Posted by Ibegoat on 06-12-2003 04:09 AM:

geeez even the sample I just grabbed was passworded. they are really getting tight with their security, anyways slight angle but its not noticable unless your looking for it. the general high quality standard CTP sound. 9/8/5 --> movie was too kiddie but the the CGI is amazing. This still doesn't show the amazing effects wait for a dvdrip/screener if thats what ur looking for.

::Flame again and it be last words you ever say here and umm btw, how do u password a .mpeg file roflmao.

They've outdone themselves. Pictures are bright, brilliant, and nice. Sound is the usual. A hilarious movie, great animation, I only wish Pixar parted from Disney. UTi, CTP, TCF, REGiME, VideoCD, VCDCentral. Do you think we're at a highpoint in the scene?

video rocking with a bright colourful sharp pic & audio is very clean and crystalclear, it's just great, although ctp still should've labeled real.proper or something but any1 who wants to see this movie soon has to take this, couldn't be done any better

From watching the sample on my PC : Excellent picture quality, probably the best I've seen in a TS. Sound seemed to have a slight echo and a low buzz, but very clear audio all the same.

Little late, but made up for it with the best release of this movie so far.

9/8/? - gonna watch the whole movie now that it is watchable :P

Throw out any previous version cuz this one's the keeper. Watching all the other TS's out there, i forget that it's possible to have a bright picture and vibrant color. Then CTP reminds us. It's all good, but WHY did it take them so long? Maybe they were on vacation.

Posted by Butch on 06-12-2003 08:50 AM:

*From Sample*

Colour and detail is amazing.Maybe CTP have taken their time because this is animated and the whole point of films like this is how life-like the characters look. You never know they may have looked at this a while back and thought they could either put out a fairly decent copy or take a while longer and put out something amazing.Props CTP 'cos nothing will touch this now until a DVD screener.

to end this once and for all: most sites have a special rule "accept centropy releases." that's why no one's screaming for a nuke, because it's generally accepted that the wait is worth the quality. yes, it's "discrimination," but it's by the rules in most cases, so stop complaining about something as trivial as labeling when it doesn't amtter anyways.

to comment on the rls: incredible in almost every aspect. the minimal cropping is worth finally having no motion blur and rich colors and excellent audio. now if only svcd supported 5.1 audio :P 10/10/10 for a ts

Posted by sirghost on 06-12-2003 10:46 AM:

Ok, great job to ctp on this rls...almost perfect vid..great audio..but..as others have pointed out..if this were any other group it would be nuked...point prooven with 2f2f...come on, if other groups get nuked for not following rules..then so should ctp...

I give it a 9/8/?. Been waiting for a good quality release of this movie. This is only based on the sample, watching the full movie later.

Picture
The picture quality is good, nice and bright. Some of the sides are cut off, but you can't avoid that when doing a telesync really.

Audio
Audio is clear. Definately a direct source. You can make out what they're saying, and it's not really hollow.

Movie
Watching this movie tonight, haven't seen it yet!

*From Sample*

I am Speechless. This release is not far away from a dvd screener. The picture on TV is so crystal clear it's unbelievable.
The sound is slightly echoey though
As telesync's go i think CTP have taken their time to show even though loads of release groups are having a crack at SVCD t/s's there is only one group that can really do it.

I don't care if it's still a TS. Most of CTP's TS's would replace many of my retail purchased DVD's. Give credit where it's due, they do a great job.

This must be the best TS ever... If the rating is for TS's then this one must get 10/10/9 no other way. This is what we have come to expect from Centropy , but this time they have outdone themselves.... Great Job Guys (sorry peeps to include the females) .

The movie is also great.. Great plot etc... Reminds me of Toy story... I don't know why .

Again great Job "peeps".

BTW why is there so many "SVCD" reviews in the "VCD" section?

Enjoy this fine release.. I can't wait for it to come to the "BIG" screen... a must to watch.

Top class movie and T/s

Nothing more to say, if you get a copyof this movie get this version.

Video (8.5): Almost unnoticeable angle, very sharp and colorful picture, slight pixelation on fast motion (most likely a flaw of MPEG-2), typical CTP major cropping but indeed very very nice.

Audio (9.5): Great audio TS-wise, almost can't get better than that for direct audio.

Nice Job CTP, Pv's is good also but they won't get the props for that from CTP fans. 8.5/9.5/8

I was thinking the same. I checked the release and there was constantly camera movement! That's not exactly what I'd call a super ts.

Also, sound isn't really that good. I've seen far better svcd ts from ctp.

If I were to judge this without knowing where it came form, I'd have labeled it CAM. A good cam, but a cam nevertheless.

Posted by AceOvArts on 06-14-2003 11:01 AM:

7.5/7/9

there is some camera movement and the usual slight bleeching in the video. Also, Ive noticed a drop in Centropy audio quality from previous releases, wonder why that is, just didnt seem as clean as some of the older rls.
Still a great TS and way better than even some groups screeners so keep up the great work guys !! (I appreciate it heaps)

You're right, it is a CAM, but one with direct sound, as all TS's are!

CAM - Recorded in a cinema using the cameras microphone
TS - Recorded in a cinema using a direct sound connection (i.e. a headphone socket)

Just thought I'd clear that up for you.

it looks like ass, colors are very washed out. 4.0

sounds is your typical CTP quality(too much bass, not DVD clear) 6.0

movie?

it looks good on the pc but not on tv for some reason.

Posted by bryehn on 06-15-2003 07:03 PM:

it's probably not "dvd clear" cause it's NOT FROM A DVD...

looked fine on my TV too, not sure what the hell you were watching...

other than the slight camera movement, most fantastic indeed.

pretty funny movie, too...my only complaint is that pixar spends so much time & effort on making thier characters act human, but make thier human characters as cartoony as possible...

About 3 or 4 people mention camera movement. Let's be a little more specific to vq readers.

This release contains a on old pixar film created back in 1989 called "Knick Knack" (which is quite amusing). During this short film (could be the way I burned the CD) I noticed a slight glich that lasted for about 1/2 second. No biggie.

The so-called "camera movement" that keeps getting brought up.... OCCURRED ONCE. This happend at the beginning of the film and lasted for about 1 second. It just looks like someone bumped the camera, however, the picture did not suffer because of it afterwards.

If you're going to take the time to post at this forum, might as well read what you write afterwards, see how it makes the release sound. No point in being vague and just saying there was "camera movement" when it makes the release sound like the person in charge of the camera (which would be on a tripod anyways) was going through heroin withdrawls during the film.

Oh, and I didn't notice any "sound quality drops". Compared to the shit audio of some of the other group's releases, ctp has no issues there, with this flick or any of it's last couple. The audio is fine, no hollowness and easy to understand. WTF? Drop in audio quality? Whatever, no reason to nit-pic a good release just because most of their releases are superior to that of other groups. Other groups are coming up, they are taking note. Quality over quickness.

Posted by Air1 on 06-15-2003 08:48 PM:

is this a CLASSIC example where the JPG's make the release look alot better than it really is or what?

7.5/7/x

alot of colors, so that's nice. motion blur is really bad and any and everything on the screen is pretty damn blurry. even the sample looks alot better than it does when it's burned and playing on the 'tube.

i've seen much better from CTP.

Posted by ember on 06-15-2003 09:12 PM:

The centropy rls is MUCH better than the ftf--the only way I can see it being any better is the DVD. The first release was watchable, but you lost all of the finer nuances in facial expression and backgrounds that were visable here. There was only ONE camera movement that I saw toward the beginning and only one appreciable glitch in the sound, also early on in the movie. Not at all as bad as some of you are saying--did you watch the whole movie? And, if you think the colors are bleached out, than perhaps you are used to the many darker rlses and you need to adjust your tv back? And let's face it--if you're watching ANYTHING on a bigger screen, it's going to lose a bit of clarity--that's the nature of it. I just wish that more rlses were this good.

I must have watched another CTP rLS of Nemo...cause

! yes it isn.t like "heroin withdrawls" but it wasn't the 1/2 a second once, as you stated either... it hapens like 4-5 times as late in the movie as the second disk.

2. Yes CTP is the best... But their not GOD either... so when a bunch of people whom have only seen the .jpg (not saying you lolobo2 havent) are saying it is the best rls the they have ever seen...well.....

3.I thought the audio was fine... but that's just my $.5x4

If you want to suck ass all the time when you post then thats fine, but it wont help groups improve thier own standards.
Ive heard better sound from centropy in past releases and there was camera movement. I dunno whats so vague about that comment, unless you want me to provide you with the timecode this happens ?
This forum is for posting your marks on the quality of audio and video of releases, the way this forum is setup allows you to justify your opinion by stating why you gave those marks. Thats what I did, so dont sit up there on your high horse trying to slag off people you disagree with, thats no way to discuss a release.
Just give your marks, tell everyone why and then let people judge for themselves, its not rocket science...is it ?

Movie OWNED! Don't hate, I enjoyed it and I'm not 5 years old. The release was good but quality was way overhyped by alot of you. Nice colorful image BUT OMG! the constant camcorder movement was really getting to me, it didn't just happen at the start. It happens everytime I think it's about to go away! Sound was sweet though, kind of loud at times but good. This is nowhere near the best TS though. 7/8/9

Gotta agree with psyche ...."quality was way overhyped by alot of you". Very true it's no where near as good as the jpg looks! Picture was just as good as ftf and they were both TS but yet ftf got a lower rating. Some of you idiots need to watch the movie before you give it a rating. I'm not in any way saying I could do any were near as good as Centropy with all the good releases they have out there but come on you guys be fair to the other rls out there. Centropy ownz for TS.... hands down!

It's not the best TS ever, it just translates better from the cam because it's not a traditional film. It's a good one, but yeah there was some focusing and jittering and crap. CTP still owns anyway.

When I come here to read posts about a particular release, I want to know how it compares to other rlses of the same movie--is it worth waiting for another dl? Is it at least watchable or will it give me a headache? A few of you made it seem like this was a hideous rls--it's not. Perhaps you didn't see that much of it or are confusing it with another. Perhaps you think critisizing a group is "good" and will "make them work harder". (I don't think they give a rat's ass and only do it for whatever profit they'll make with bootlegs--but that's just me) This was much better than the original ftf without an ending, then the "full" version, or at least the second half had to be dl'ed. I think that the groups do the best they can with the equipment they have and whatever chance they have at getting at the movies. So, in the future, maybe think more in terms of "will my opinion help other people know if they want to dl it". I think most of us realize that the only way you're not going to have pixelation on complicated or fast moving shots is to have a DVD-- svcd quality might minimize it, but even some commercial DVD's have pixelation.

Thumbs up

Camera movement almost throughout the entire film...just slight movement...but noticable. It seemed as though they didn't even use a tri-pod. 7/9/8 Very watchable.
