great video & sound.. no angle.. crappy movie though.. exactly what you expect from CTP.

8/8/6

Posted by Protosstic on 06-09-2003 02:21 AM:

Judging by the sample, it looks like CTP has done it again. Sound is normal CTP TS sound, and I don't notice much or any of an angle.

Pic 7 Sound 7 Movie ? (going to watch it tonight)

rather nice.... nice and colorful.

slightly pixely ..

awsome audio ... its very very good .. one of the better audio sources ive heard lately

roughly the same as x2... sound maybe slightly better but video about the same

Centropy know what they are doing. This release just screams 3CCD camera. Thats the difference between a washed out overally dark blue tinted release, and this which is rich in colour and perfectly nicely.

All they need to do now is fix the angle issue and manually focus (to avoid autofocus kicking in on scenes with little detail) and you have on your hands releases that rival most good screeners!

Posted by elpale1 on 06-09-2003 02:47 AM:

JUST DOWNLOADED THIS RELEASE. PERFECT VIDEO AND SOUND. ANOTHER GREAT RELEASE THX TO CTP.

Posted by astrostock on 06-09-2003 02:48 AM:

There is an angle, but you cannot make anything of it as it is very minimal. All in all, an awesome TS from Centropy.

Video = 8.8
Sound = 9
Movie = 7 (Not bad if you haven't seen the trailers, otherwise, there's very little suspense or surprise value)

very very little angle but really no problemo, the colours are just wonderful, little pixelated but very acceptable and the sound is a little noisy but still definately nice

beats the logistic & nox versions easily, and since i was still waiting for a good release this is great stuff!

as far as the movie goes..... Hope it's worth the watch

if you have any other version of this movie, del it and get this one
cause it's great and a testement to the efforts that CTP puts into their work. Great Job CTP keep it up

It does have a slight angle but the colors are good and the audio is nice.

Posted by Phlag on 06-09-2003 03:34 AM:

I may be sucking CTP's dick, but they fucking deserve it.

The angle is there (it's blatantly obvious even in the JPEG), but everything else is beautiful. Very wide, seems like barely anything is cropped, and bright colors.

8/7/4

Edit: Great point on how this should be labeled a proper. I don't mind CTP's experimentation in different formats\quality which stray from the scene standards (in fact I encourage it), but they SHOULD label their releases correctly. That's just common sense.

Not their best work. Isnt bad, not best. You can see pixelation in sample, though it might look fine on a tv set. ALso, audio sounds muffled. Whomever said good audio hasnt obviously watched this... It is hard to understand in few spots and sounds kinda hollow is more like it. But hey im not a ctp kiddy so i wont just go 10/10/10.

probably because CTP consistently puts out the best TS releases...id rather wait a week late and watch a CTP rls rather than watching a rls from a stupid silver group. most sites have special rules regarding CTP releases anyways thus the reason for the non-nuke.

Come on centropy give us "The Hulk" and "Two Fast to Furious" and ill eat your hat. Ha Ha Ha

Okay, this is after I watched the first cd.

Video
Yes there is a slight angle and its noticeable.
The video has a bit of blueish tint.
Its a little cut off on the right hand side (dont believe me, look at the centering of the credits in the beginning)
Its has also been cropped a bit on the bottom which is noticeable.

Audio
Ive heard better. Little bit of a hiss.
A lot of bass I noticed. I had to turn my subwoofer down quite a bit.

Enjoy the film.

Uhhhgg..Really not all that impressive..Sound is there, but kinda pixelated, and once again, we have another fukked angle, like TOTS was..Does the guy that works their cam, drunk when he did this or what?..Really getting tired of the TS's with angle probs..Kinda annoying to have to re-situate urself somewhere else in ur TV Room, in order to view it properly..B4 u know it, we'll be hanging off the chandeliers upside down, so we can see the movie properly..

Pfff..Owning the scene? If u ask me, TCF ownz the scene..They have put out alot less "fucked" releases than CTPY has put out..and 1/2 these TS's really dont warrant SVCD, like a few others said here previously..Dont even need to download this to see that the angle is fukked..And how can it "not be noticable", if 50 people , including me, just said WE DID?..Derrrrr..

I could see WindVD, for tv out on these, but anyone who burns this shit (then throws the CDs in the trash, 3 weeks later when the SCREENER/RIP is released) just has no life with nothing better to do..Like most i would think, im a perfectionist (well, NEAR perfectionist, cuz there really is no such thing as perfection) and only want something thats worth keeping/archiving..

If some people had the "P" word, and could wait a bit, u can get something 10 times better, than settling for poo poo..Get a clue, and stop acting like a faggot who lost his yorkshire terrier, or spilled red wine on his burbur rug..

:: lol, how is the SOUND pixelated? and if you want archive, just don't download anything other than DVDRs then, TS' are not supposed to be perfect, but i know what i'd rather watch, a standard centropy release, or a fisheyed mono subbed and tagged asian silver. sigh. pHo

Thanks CTP for actually making it possible to see the titles at the beginning, every other release has them way off screen.I know this is not important but you know from little things like this that centropy consider the viewer rather than the race to release first.

This movie is one of the most stupid movies I've even seen. some people said "watch the original", but if the original has the same story, it must be just as stupid. It's not a surprise to see Theron and Wahlberg in such a movie ->untalented actors belong into boring movies, but one thing did amaze me: how the hell did they get Norton to play a part in this movie? Did they threaten him with a gun?

You're close. They threatened him with legal action.

Norton's first movie was Primal Fear. When he took the role, he signed a contract with Paramount to do 2 more feature films for them at a later date.

To make a long story short, many years passed without Norton and Paramount being able to agree on a movie.. Finally Paramount exercised it's option to force him to do a project.. The Italian Job

Yes forced. He didn't want to do the movie. He had no choice. That is also why you don't see him around in the press/talk shows promoting the film.. he hates it.

So with that in mind. ?/?/0

Posted by B18C5 on 06-10-2003 01:51 AM:

LOL, I seriously don't know why some of you guys are making this out to be a TCF vs. CTP thread. Just comment on the release quality and move on, I found it to be pointless to go beyond the conversation. Both groups are great in their respective format, I for one only watch screeners and dvdrips so i grab alot of TCF releases or maybe once in a blue moon I'll watch a CTP/TCF TS but I'm not a fan of angles so I skip most. Hehe, I agree with that one guy though 8 Mile was a pretty DAMN good TS for being mpeg-1 but TCF hasn't been able to duplicate that in their past few TS's. The last ones that I remember having good audio besides 8 Mile were Hot Chick, Bringing Down the House and Matrix. Every other one had an annoying buzz but once they get that fixed then maybe I'll have a different opinion. CTP has got the colors and audio down but like I said I'm not a fan of angles and major cropping so I (not YOU) will wait for a screener copy or will pay a visit to my local AMC 7/7/8, I enjoyed the movie even if some of yall hated it. The Mini Cooper scenes were nice.

When you first start watching the movie you can tell there IS a slight angle, however after a few mins you wont even notice it as you get used to the way the movie looks. Sound is top notch and video is great, slightly pixeled in parts.

CTP gets closer and closer to the perfect TS...

TS's are often done in PAL because the framerate (25fps) is similar to that of FILM (23.976fps) so the flicker that comes from mismatched framerate isn't as bad.

sony is a poor choice for a dvd player to play pirated movies. sony is a content producer as well as a hardware manufacturer, and have little to gain by facilitating the use of copied flicks. our apex has an option in the setup menu that allows us to output at PAL or at NTSC, regardless of the format of the source disc.

Tmpgenc will re-encode it from PAL SVCD to NTSC SVCD. I've done it dozens of times (basically on all of centropys releases).

It's not the fastest encoder but you'll never have an audio sync problem. It takes about 3 hours to re-encode to ntsc with motion search quality set to "high". Faster if you use normal, etc. This is on a P4/2.4Ghz. If you aren't familiar with video encoding, it's about as simple as it gets. It also does DVD and VCD.

www.tmpgenc.com -- it's $49.

For this release:

Video - 8
Audio - 7
Movie - 6

A little more of the "angle" in this one then their last few releases. but not bad at all. Excellent colors and sharpness.

Centropy is my hero. lol.

Video = 8
Audio = 8
Video = 9 (its got Norton in it and I'm a sucker for for remakes of old classics)

umm saw movie last night...didnt like it very much. Too slow and not enough action. I ended up walking out with 15 minutes left....and talked on my cell phone with a girl. So i missed the ending but my "boys" said it sucked and its a movie i shouldve let them watch off the internet instead of wasting 7 bucks each. This sample is the best 8/8/6....i will get this but not worried about it very much.

The best for playing VCDs is Mintek. If you can't find it check Best Buy and ask for something that 'plays everything including VCDs'. They will steer you in the right direction. You don't have to spend a fortune for it. $50 to $75 should be sufficient and don't buy the big brands. Try to find smaller brands like Maganavox, Mintek, or Apex. If you wan't more info go to http://www.dvdrhelp.com

As for this release:
Video has a slight angle //not too noticealbe// and a slight bluish tint //I can live with that//.

Audio is fine

Overall a great release...........another great Centropy release.

i actually enjoyed the movie the ending was a lil bit weak but all in all i thought it was a decent movie well worth the time spent on my couch watchin it on my pioneer dv-353
was a ts so i wasnt so i was happy with the quality but obviously it wasnt perfect -- cmon it is a ts after all even if it is ctp
one thing i noticed that no1 else here seems to have seen or cared about is when the ukranian guys are talking in ukranian (on the 2nd cd i believe it was) the subtitles are cut out -- that was VERY disapointing but b/c it was a one time subtitle thing you could figure out from contect what they had been talkin about but i expect better from ctp in that respect -- sometimes subtitles can be pretty important so it lost at least a point in video rating just for that subtitle screw up in my books

audio 8
video 7
movie 7.5
