7/9/10.

MUCH better than logistic's release. Colors are still a little washed out, but the audio is superb, and the picture is clear.

I like the release, it is decent. But I do not agree with the nfo on supplier. If it was ment to be a joke or not. Just my thoughts though

Posted by lickmyzack on 08-18-2003 07:56 AM:

Just checked it out, this is a decent release for a telesync, good video & good audio as well, i've only watched disc one & working on disc two at the moment but as it stands this release should do most well until a good screener or DVD rip comes out.

8/8/10

(Been waiting for this movie to come out for many years... saw it in the theater and it kicks ASS!!!!!)

Posted by SurfeRStud on 08-18-2003 07:58 AM:

movie was great watched it at theaters was funny and had action and this is alot better than what logistic sent out

6.5/7.5/9

Posted by Jc100 on 08-18-2003 07:58 AM:

Sample here seems pretty solid with clear audio. Wonder if the whole release is like that. If so, this is what we need in Ts's.. pretty solid and watchable at least from sample view.

Oh and side note, phizz if i were you, i wouldnt post jpegs, VCDQ already got a battle on that frontier. Sure you dont need some legal experts sending you some nice mail, threatening to sue.

Posted by xlsvcd on 08-18-2003 08:00 AM:

TCR? Hmrmm. Looks like a ripoff of TcS's NFO though

Anyways, audio is a lot better then Logistic's release, although the colors are a little washed out. Nice release.

Posted by _cappA_ on 08-18-2003 08:01 AM:

for 1, if you DO like this movie then i suggest you see it in theathers, it was good enough to spend the money on, and 2, the two rls's of this movie so far are not the greatest, most the movie takes place in the dark, and these rls's dont warrent their download.

however, good job to TCR for their work and effort on bringin out a rls that is some what watchable. Keep up the good work. btw, the sound is pretty good.

Posted by brr8760 on 08-18-2003 08:57 AM:

Sample is very solid. Nice point in nfo about dark movies and TS's. Can't tell how the dark scenes will be from the sample cuz it's probably the brightest scene in movie.

Welcome TCR-- ya made yourself a nice, quick introduction. THANKS.

EDIT: yep, it's a dark one. It's also the same original source as the internal. Sound is very, very good--- but I don't think a TS has to be *this* dark. We may luck into a better one soon. 6/8/?

Anyways this is a all around good release, imo 6.5/7.5/9 the funniest shit is the very last scene, haha GAYYY for those of you who have seen it, you know what I am talking about

release IS good, but as they've pointed out, it's a dark movie and bits and pieces are unwatchable because of this. As someone else has pointed out the release is quite heavily cropped as well.

That said this is probably going to be the best a ts can get with a movie like this.

Anyways nice release

7/8/Will find out today

Posted by Neversoft on 08-18-2003 05:01 PM:

Watched the first few minutes of CD 1 then skimmed through the rest... The video is damned good, fairly sharp, maybe slightly washed out - the dark scenes look ok on both the monitor and TV. It appears to cropped mostly on the right as the "N" in "Jason" was missing in the title sequence and the naked chick runs away from a "mystery" person just off the screen.

The audio is excellent too, there's a few pops/crackles/hisses during the first couple of minutes but it soon goes away (I don't know if it returns though).

Overall, a helluva debut for TCR... 7/8/?

Posted by alpha_code on 08-18-2003 05:41 PM:

Posted by DarkkDiablo on 08-18-2003 11:37 PM:

great movie, and a very nice release.

when i watched the Sneak Preview on thursday night, i notices some strange markings during the middle of the movie, about 4 or 5 times, and there are some visible in the sample too.

at about frame 212, 7 seconds into the sample, u'll see red dots that look like

. . .
.
.

when watching this in the theatre, i noticed these a few times and thought maybe new line was implementing some new type of security in the film, sort of like Serial Numbers in screeners, where each copy of the film has a unigue number, or in this case, a unique set of dots.

or maybe i'm being paranoid and am totally wrong

what do you think about it?

oh yeah, i suppose i should rate it.
video: 7, even tho it's clearly cropped on the sides
audio:8
movie:9

First of all, to all of you trampling on Logistic's INTERNAL rls of the movie, maybe you don't deserve to be getting anything anywhere. It's so easy to trash someone elses hard effort so you can enjoy it for free. I'd like to see you risking your freedom to do it. No I don't belong to that group, just respect their efforts!

Now to the feature presentation.

Video....... to much contrast in the movie, fixable somewhat but then you lose the real experience 6

Sound.... not that bad, mono though 5

movie..... ?

Posted by Sig-Bro on 08-19-2003 03:44 AM:

I noticed as well when I saw this movie Friday afternoon that it also had markings on the film at certain places, I can't remeber exactly at what point, but the markings i saw were either red or orange and looked like this
. .
. .
.
. .
. .
Or similar to that. Also when I went to see SWAT earlier last week I saw a similar marking on that movie too. I know someone said for SWAT it was a watermark for bootleggers, but is this just a coinsidence, or are they finally implementing the whole tracing method for bootlegged movies??
Ok enough about that, video gets a 7, audio get a 8, and movie gets a 8.
Great movie but coulda had a better storyline...then again we're not going to see it for a good story, just guts, gore, and ass!

Yes I've noticed those DOTS too. They are located in the left upper corner of the screen in frames # 214, 215 and 216 of the sample! Seven seconds into the sample. Based on the way they look and where they are located - it's clear they are meant to be there! Why? I don't know. But it does look like a new security coding made by the studio. What ever it is - I don't like it!
The movie is good: 7.5 / 7.6 / 7.5

Posted by illfrozn on 08-19-2003 04:18 AM:

This comment doesn't cocern this release, but it does answer the questions about encoding on bootlegs.I work at a movie theater and recently,we recieved a letter from corporate stating that a special encoding would be placed on movies, and a film could be traced back to the movie theater where it was filmed using the code. Also, they said the encoding could still be found/seen in a "computer file",so maybe what you guys are seeing is the special encoding.I have yet to see Freddy vs Jason,so I haven't seen the dots, but when I see it,which will be soon,I'll be on the look out for them.BTW,they offered $100 to any employee that caught someone filming a movie that lead to a police report and police investigation. So yes, movie theaters are working hard to end piracy,it seems.

Posted by HATECORE on 08-19-2003 05:09 AM:

OMFG....A good old slasher movie like i enjoyed watching as a kid. Freddy vs Jason fight at the end kicks ass.

Video: 7 - The original movie is dark so unfortunatly it cant be better on those releases.

Sound: 7 - Sound is very clear exept for some annoying scratchy noises that happen sometimes in the movie.

Movie: 9 - Im a slasher addicted since the last 20 years so...

Posted by Klonin on 08-19-2003 05:11 AM:

Watchable

Definitely watch able......Dark scenes were viewable at least......was crop somewhat but still got most of the action. Movie was funny at spots, man Freddy own.

vid - 6.5

Audio - 5 loud hissing at start, but cleared up after about 30 secs, still was sad....needed adjustments

Movie - 7 plot was predictable but still was cool flix

Better than other release by far

Posted by JiggaLigga on 08-19-2003 05:54 AM:

The dots are in Uptown Girls also. Noticed it on preview night. Also, reason why this release may look sharp is because of how far it's zoomed in. Other then that 6 / 7 / 9 . A screener should follow soon, keep your eyes peeled .

Posted by jrw on 08-19-2003 06:34 AM:

Really washed out video but overall watchable , sound has the usual telesync quality, tiny & lack of bass ,ive heard worse.. movie itself was better that I expected.

Looks like Im one of the only ones who thinks this movie totally blows....As far as the release goes...well...I do understand that its a dark movie but with that said...the colors are horrid...6.7 The sound...well...if you can get past the first three minutes or so (as stated in the nfo) its not to terrible...I wouldn't say 7 however....possibly low 6..The unfortunate thing about the sound being jacked up in the first three minutes is the fact that those first three minutes are probably the most interesting part of the entire film. And the ending..WTF was that all about...Robert Yu...don't make me send your ass back to film school.. I say leave Jason at the bottom of Crystal lake and let poor Robert Englund hang up the glove in a lone dark props closet somewhere and get on with his career before he's to friggen old to have one!!!!

Those dots are water marks. These dots are on every copy, but diffrent on each one. the dots are to trace the film back to the theater is was played at. It was on a swat release aswell. If you do a search on pircay and movies you will find out that they have been talking of doing this for some time now. These dots when used with the right software will produce the logo and id# of the theater. Dont ask me how i just seen it on some special on Tech-Tv. So TCR maybe loosing out on recording on this spot very soon.

Dark scenes are still not very watchable, but hands down the best release thus far.

Posted by mjkpro11 on 08-20-2003 05:59 AM:

little dark and to the question 2 replies ago..
yes the hissing is like first 3 min of film.. after that nothing...

I think the rating is correct .. a little high I think for video so..
6/7/7

the dots are interesting..I didn't notice during swat but totally noticed during the lightning in this movie..
wondered why they never did that to begin with..

but..
you really think EVERY theatre copy has these dots?
EVERY THEATRE??

Wouldn't that mean EVERY reel would have to basically be touched individually AND would have to make sure it gets to its correct destination .. I think that is alot of work isn't it?

or is it you think .. "certain" theatres that are suspected ?
you know 100 reels being marked is more logical than THOUSANDS right?

It is just interesting to me.. that they would actually put that IN the movie .. VISIBLE to the naked eye. it distracts from the scenes they are shown in.. it isn't like they are shown once.. it is ALOT . You would think the directors or producers would have a COW about those dots showing during movie.

Would you think Lucas would allow those to be seen during his precious work of arts "Star Wars" (maybe)

just interesting thats all.

Posted by moviegoon on 08-20-2003 07:31 AM:

Nice rls for being so soon after the theatrical release. Much better than the previous one. Picture is sharp but fight scenes are hard to make out. Picture is cropped but doesn't seem to take away from the movie to much. Sound is good although music seems a bit louder than the dialog. Might be my speakers.

Overall
7/7/8

Posted by LOLobo on 08-20-2003 09:35 AM:

Thumbs up

Beginning audio is fuct, after about 1.5mins it's corrected.

Video is cropped from the sides. I would have prefered a wider screen, I hate full screen. The more you cut from the sides the more I miss.

Movie - - - It was cool, didn't dig on the story as much as the fighting between Jason and Freddy. I kind of think about it like Matrix Reloaded . . . don't care for the story, but wouldn't want to miss the action.

Worth seeing.

Read the NFO

:/

It is covered in the NFO, they have said the audio is shitty for the first few minutes.

Posted by Ronz on 08-20-2003 07:19 PM:

people, the quality of this release is woeful.

Sound is crap, and during the first few minutes, it is ridiculous. The video has a large portion chopped from each side, which is clearly noticable the whole way through, not to mention the darkness or it, with the brightness turned way up that just makes it worse, not better.

Im sorry i downloaded it.

Posted by SBG on 08-20-2003 09:46 PM:

Is it just me or have there not been any decent releases lately, a month or so ago there was at least one good release on each movie, anyways as for this 1 its not 2 bad, definetly room for improvement picture wise, sound is cushty after the first minute or so as stated in the nfo. Ive given up downloading movies for a while until releases come back on par again honestly u gotta admit theres been absoloute shite lately... still max respect to all the groups , big up ya selfs , boo clatz.... Plus i cant understand why these groups find it so hard to get hold of screeners there are so many dvd screeners floating about round my drug dealers gaf.. freddy vs jason e.tc. all of em ... man sort ya sources out , big up , booo select

Posted by -=kamamia-san=- on 08-20-2003 10:06 PM:

I didn't mind the messed up audio during the first 3 minutes, but the darkness of the video really made many parts of the film almost unwatchable, because i simply couldn't see what's going, even though i watched the NOX release before and actually KNEW what was supposed to be happening.
And thats really a shame, because the overall vid quality was very tasty, very sharp (compared to the NOX-rls). Ah well, cant be helped I'm still glad TCR released it, that's all that matters.

Slightly off topic, whilst I agree on the quality of the film, I was wondering, if whilst watching on DVD player, does anyone get slight freezing of the film for the first 10 minutes. I'm wondering if it is the movie itself or whether to kick my DVD player around the room.

Posted by -=kamamia-san=- on 08-21-2003 02:38 PM:

@twiek:

load your mpeg2 into DVD2AVI, set Audio Output Method to "decode to wav". Then go to "File > Save Project as" and save. After a few minutes you get a small "d2v-file" which you load up in TMPGEnc as video source, so it can read the mpeg2 stream, add the wav that DVD2AVI created and you're ready to go.

Almost the entire left and right sides are not visible, for example at the begginning when the girl jumps out of crystal lake because her boyfriend doesn't respond, she runs towards the forest and see's jason BUT YOU BARELY SEE JASON in this release (only a part of his mask and blade). Video was pretty dark and dull, and sound was audible but scratchy at times. Good Job though, best version out. And to that guy saying that TCR ripped off TcS's nfo, they're the same group different division so I doubt they mind 7/7/8

Just finished watching this one, Video is a bit dark, but it is a "dark" movie, so I give it a 7.
Audio, fine other than a few hisses, mainly cd 1 first 2.5 minutes or so, but that is explained in the NFO, there are a few other hisses but over all not too bad, 6.5.
Movie over all, not bad not the greatest, I am not really a fan of either, basically pretty neutral. But I always liked NightMare On Elm Street better. Overall 6.
7/6.5/6

I noticed the "dots" either 2 times in cd 1 or 3, It is late, I am not sure, and 1 time in cd 2, They are really freaking annoying, I would just about complain if I had seen them in the theatre, they aren't that visable, and are on the screen only for a few seconds, but enough to notice. I used to edit, I was in a TV productions Class in high school, and usually 1 frame of something is almost invisable, but not when it is 5 freaking dots, red none the less in the middle of the freaking sceen. If the studios feel they need to do this, which if about as dumb as pet rocks, then they could at least have the curtesy to put them at the bottom, top or side and in a non intrusive color. If they are a true digital watermark that can be picked up by a computer, or advance digital editing equipment, then what purpose does it serve to put them in the middle.

I just got done watching this release. It's a little dark at times, but as previously stated this is a dark movie to begin with. Also the dark scenes are still watchable. I just watched the whole thing and I followed the plot just fine. Audio is swet in this too.

As far as quality of the film itself, I loved it. I've seen all the Elm Street movies and the original Friday the 13th film, and this has to rank right up there beside Wes Craven's New Nightmare in my book.

I thought this was a pretty decent release, although i feel the colours are probably too dark due to a serious lack of redness in any of the scenes of blood and mutilation. On the whole though pretty good and a much better movie than i expected. Good work TCR.

Cool

Video is good, too bad it's cropped.
Audio was also really good.
Jackie Chan movies suck now though, I'm never watching another one of his movies.
7/8/2

Anyways, most people must've rated from the sample, which is a nice, bright scene, cause the rest of the video is just average, too washed out, too dark. The audio is great for a TS though, despite the static in the beginning.

5/6/4
