How in the hell is this possible? this is unreal. I finally took the liberty of downloading the subbed version of this movie, havn't watched it yet, i think i'll wait until i get this copy. One of my favorite movies of the year, and ever. Was waiting for a nice release of it. This should do it. I have to admit that I've seen much better. In the sample for instance, when he's running down the corridor in the jail, there's a point at which you can barely see him because of pixalation.

Looks great though.

Does this movie have any Watermarks or Black and White Scenes or anything?

Excellent quality judging by the sample.

saw this movie in the theatre on monday, and i liked it. not one of tom hanks' best movies and i dont really like leo dicrapio. the story is awesome though...but dont be fooled by the 9.0 rating for the movie here on vcdq, cuz it doesnt really deserve that high of a rating. go by the one on imdb.

Well, i've managed to get the two cam versions yesterday, and watched it.
Now, this... it's the fifth time in less that six months that i have to dl a cam version, and imediately after there's a screener coming out.
Very good movie, so it will worth the dl. Good job, TCF.
But what amazes me is that so many people can get this kind of releases that i, and tons of others, have searched everywhere without success.

Apex problems

Nice release, the only problem is my Apex player has problems playing it since it's derived from a PAL screener. It works fine in the beginning of all 3 CDs, but after awhile the picture gets blocky and at some points it just freezes to a flickering green screen. At first I thought it was my media so I have tried several brands, then I tried burning it different ways. Anybody else experiencing these sort of difficulties?

AH son of a bitch. I was about to download this right now and i just happened to look. Pal svcd.. ... Why o why must I ask a Pal svcd. Damn pioneer 440 wont play them. Err tcf was on a role and then this...... Enter more raving ranting here... I wonder if we will see a ntsc of this... so much for my leeching. ... As for sample, looks pretty decent. Wish i could see the whole movie but im not about to sit and watch it on my computer and not be able to kick back and play it on my dvd... Ranting finished.

I was really psyched about this release.
I just saw the sample (I havent seen the whole thing yet, just the sample), and it seemed like the audio was a little fast (I was reminded of an old telecine of 15 Minutes where the sound was noticeably fast and chipmunk-like), the quality otherwise on the sample was fantastic, but can somebody clarify this, that way I don't waste my time finding the whole thing.
This whole 'not working in apex players' thing is pretty troubling too. Yikes.

Damn, it's PAL. My dvd player supports it, but my T.V. doesn't. At least that's what I think is the problem, since whenever I try to play a PAL disc, the picture is in black and white and too choppy to watch.

Just to confirm it works just fine on my pioneer dv-434 and apex ad-5131 and various tv models, it's a PAL SVCD not the end of the world.

holy shit batman! the movie is PAL! someone call the Free Pirated Movie Police (1-800-DUMB-ASS) and complain! if your tv or dvd player is too shitty to play PAL movies go buy a video card with TV-OUT, the GeForce4 MX 440 might be shitty, but it has TV-OUT and u can pick it up for 41 bucks, hell i spend more than that at McDonalds

Yes, the image is Great, the Sound is perfect (the master is a DVD!!!) but Boy... 20 minute in the first CD have problem whit Image and sound out from voice and the CD 3 have 5 minute of this problem. vERY BAD WORK FROM TCF!!!

great rls, the only problem i had is since pal has a higher resolution my dvd player squishes the picture and angles look really jaggedy. aside from that excellent rls and movie.

Sound -=- Also good. Just listen to the opening score for christ sakes. If u know jazz, you know there's NOTHING wrong with it.

Film -=- SS + DMSKG did it again. This one is a sure Oscar contender.

Having some issues...

Disk 1...looks great

Disk 2...looked great on computer, once I burned it, the audio is now out of sync.

Disk 3...tried everything on VCDGear, but still unable to create the mpeg file. bin/cue->mpeg...doesn't work. raw->mpeg...no good. bin/cue->raw...nope

I had the same problem a few times over. I haven't made a vcd yet so I can't say much about that end. Does the vcd turn up clear or do you think it'll be the same as the ripped mpeg out of the vcd?


And as to the quality of the straight mpeg njnjr23, try running it through VcdGear and Mpeg Corrector. That seemed to fix it somewhat but you still have to get up off your chair at the beginning of each new mpeg file and click just a bit ahead of where you are in the movie and slide the timer back. You have to play it in a software dvd player though. I used power dvd and it worked fine.

Question... When you rip the mpeg out of the bin/cue files can that mess it up? Or will the vcd show green screen blocks and errors at the beginning of each CD as well? b/c That could be a pain in the ass.

Had this same prob with narc svcd, but worked fine as vcd(video quality reduced abit)

there ne way to fix this?

You guys can try burning with CDRWIN instead of nero, since nero has problems burning multitrack images which might solve the problem.
