great release..
Quality is what most groups would call a TC.. Audio is def direct.

v-9 best you will get for a TS.
a-8 best direct now, DTS is only thing better
movie - N/A downloading now...

AFRO car is badass from sample. Movie looks really good too.

Posted by dibster on 06-11-2006 07:37 AM:

From the sample:

V - 8 - Colors are slightly washed out but still very bright and distinct.
A - 8 - Sounds great but no low end.
M - ? - N/A

Great release.

Posted by MrFreestyle on 06-11-2006 08:53 AM:

As always maVen kicks ass.

Video = 8.5
Audio = 8.0
Movie = 7.0

Posted by rocklin on 06-11-2006 08:58 AM:

Razor sharp picture (in the proper widescreen ratio), crystal clear sound, this could almost pass for a DVDrip.

So far above the tiny, cropped to death, blurry, echoy sounding Hydro release it isn't funny.

Posted by bratt31999 on 06-11-2006 09:15 AM:

Thumbs up

Judging from the sample maVen appears to be back in the groove. The sound is great (as referenced in their NCFO) and the colors are clear and vivid. In the sample IMO there seems to be a slight flicker but still a very nice piece of work. As usual no matter how good it is, not everyone will be happy. Once again another excellent release by maVen, Keep up the good work.

V/9 A/9.5 M/?

Posted by torxxx on 06-11-2006 09:18 AM:

just checked out the sample.

V- 9

I wish I woulda grabbed this instead of the hydro's rls.

Thanks maVen. Good to see you guys back in action

Based on the Sample:

V: 9
A: 9
M: N/A .. haven't watched it .. not really my type of movie unless it's humorous like other animated movies.

Nice to see maVen pick up on this release

Great qualty video the sound is much better than the last few maVen Xvid's. At least i don't need to turn the tv upto full volume to hear it.

Oh and a touch of class including the "One Man Band" short film.

Posted by zimmerick on 06-11-2006 05:55 PM:

Yeah, the pic and sound are great, typical for a Maven release. The only problem I see is that this is listed as being 1 CD in the release list, but it is actually 2. And I am having a hell of a time getting the 2nd one now.

wow.. great copy. I was expecting a better than average TS due to it being a cartoon but this beat all my expectations. Also amazing speed getting this release out. Great job Maven as usual. I don't know how much closer to a 10 one can make a TS and since 10's are frowned upon here this is my score.

For a TS:
V:9 - Even paused on a 60" TV it's amazingly crisp/clear
A:9 - Volume level seems spot on and besides that anouncement in the beginning, which was beyond their control, it's perfect.
M:9 - Pixar does it again. They can't seem to make a bad movie (although obviously some are not as good as others, they are all still above average IMO)

WELL LETS FACE IT 38 POSTS GIVING MAVEN A BJ, AND NOT ONE STATING THE COUNTLESS PROBLEMS OF THIS RELEASE.

VIDEO = GREAT... LOVE IT.. EXCEPT FOR THE GIRL GETTING UP ON CD 2... A FEW TIMES

AUDIO = TOTAL SHIT... WHY? WELL FOR ANY OF THE PEOPLE SCREAMING HOW GREAT THIS WAS, YOU ARE SMOKING CRACK... SURE THE AUDIO IS CLEAR AND LOUD... BUT WAIT.... ITS NOT IN SYNC... ITS NUKED FOR NOT IN SYNC... CD 2 IS OUT OF SYNC...STARTING AT 28:49....YOU HAVE TO STOP THE MOVIE, AND THEN START IT BACK UP, BUT IF YOU PLAY THROUGH IT STAYS OUT OF SYNC...NOT TO MENTION AT 30 -35 SECS THEY WANT SOME STUPID KID FROM THE CONCESSION STAND ( MENTIONED)... BEFORE YOU GO RANTING AND RAVING HOW GOOD THIS IS, TRY WATCHING THE DAMN THING.

Well, after viewing this flick, and reading all the negative comments and b/s nuke reason, I still think this TS is up to par on what is expected, even exceeded my (and many others) expactations.

Video - 8
Audio - 9
Movie - 9

Jc100 - I think maybe you are being a little rough on your post (and ouch, my eyes on those CAPS), I mean, come on, the audio is better than a measly "1"

IMHO - this release is top notch TS... and to answer someone elses question about how this can be a TS if you can hear the announcement - the announcement interruption was crisp and clean, which is exactly how it should have been... the theatre used the PA system, which goes through the equipment amps (or at least I think it does)

good job maVen

oh, and I couldn't notice the 'out-of-sync' issue mentioned... maybe my eyes are bad, cause I think it's harder to notice out of sync issues on animations (especially this one)... it could be there, but I didn't notice it

infact to be obtuse i would say fuck of and die jc100.

repeatt,do not listen to jc100 cause he is a dickhead, basically

if this recieves one for sound what would be 6,7,8 or9?

all in sync, before you go slagging off learn how to play correctly

omg so many edits but worth it,i bet he still uses vlc with no ac3,koepi or lame.

caps should have given it away mind

Let me break this down for you (and the people who are posting to flame you).

1. maVen have the tastiest cocks around.
2. It's not nuked.
3. The length of your tenure here will not stop you from getting banned if you break posting rules (such as the NO FUCKING FLAMING rule). Yes, people flamed you but by your own admission, you've been here a while, you should know better.
4. You use Windows Media Player? That nullifies anything you say with regards to playback of a release. WMP is to media players what Rabies is to breakfast cereals.

Now, if you'll allow me to rate the release before issuing a message to everybody else:

V - 8 (very crisp, not the best TS but you still wish 90% of CAM/TS groups could come close to this quality)
A - 6 (pretty nice but the channels are reversed. Thankfully, anybody using VLC can quickly fix that I tried to find the sync issue mentioned above but it looks like VLC handles the "glitch" with ease)
M - ? (Looks good but I've only skipped through the release)

::EDIT:: After watching the movie, the audio is a bit distorted in parts but it's not bad and doesn't last long. I spotted NO sync issues. The movie is decent, it's worth a 7 but it's pretty long and younger kids could get a bit bored/restless towards the end::

***PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT***

READ THE RULES AT THE TOP. QUIT THE BITCHING AND FLAMING. REVIEW THE RELEASE AND MOVE ON... PLEASE!

How do you figure that? Sounds direct to me.

Lesse...slight flicker, lost kid halfway through, some bitch's head. 3. 3 Problems, not "countless" problems :P

As for your problems with the audio synchronization, if pausing and playing fixes the problem, it's your system (either not enough hardware, or poorly written software), and not the release (Think about it, if it was the release, when you unpaused it it would still be out of sync).

Perhaps leaving your CAPS LOCK on is draining so many system resources that it's causing your playback to lag :P

Actually, WMP works fine for me, although I always convert to DVD rather than watch on the computer...except x3. I had to watch that immediately. Either way, WMP does the trick as long as you have your codecs. From what I remember, I downloaded the K-Lite pack and nothing else.

Oops, forgot to rate the rls:

Video - 8
This is some superb video. Even better than some of the TC's we've had lately. Once you're to CD 2, there are a couple heads you'll see, but only one of 'em is real noticable. The motion on this one was handled really well. There's also a slight flicker you probably won't notice after watching from any point for more than 45 secs, and when you go from CD1 to CD2, there's a couple secs of repeat footage (like Kung Fu Hustle a while back).

Audio - 7
MUCH improved. Thank you for listening, maven. I had thought about editing the audio for the part where there's the lost kid, but I thought it really helped re-create the theatre experience :P

Movie - 9
Great family movie. Actually helped hold my 2 yr old's attention for a significant ammount of time. Not as funny to adults as many other animated films, but it has it's moments, and also leaves you with a warm and fuzzy feeling at the end.

Posted by iljs on 06-12-2006 05:38 AM:

Neversoft took the words out of my mouth

The people posting about using Windows Media Player, and that if you can hear the concession stand doesnt that mean there is no way its direct, and that the K-lite Codec leave shit on your computer pack is good really are showing how "advanced" they are in general knowledge. Perhaps my run on sentence also does

Video - 9 crisp, normal maVen
Audio - 8 nice and clear, smells like a new source.

Video - 8.5 - Superb quality - only suffering from the stupid woman who walks out and back into the shot for a second

Audio - 8 - 1 point off for the concession stand announcement and another for the reversed channels - but excellent quality otherwise. No out of sync issues at all and I've watched it on both VLC and WMP. (the entire movie twice)

Movie - 8 - Humour in true Pixar style ... lots of stuff for the kiddies, with some funny adult jokes thrown in too. Enjoyed it quite a bit although thought some parts dragged on a bit longer than they needed to. Visuals were outstanding!

It was great that Maven included the short film at the start, but it would have been great if they had gotten the skits that Pixar always put into the ending credits too - they do 'car' versions of Toy Story (Toy Car Story) and Monsters Inc (Monster Trucks Inc).

This release is back to the Maven quality we have come to love. Keep up the great work guys - your efforts are greatly appreciated by the community.

maVen, good on ya matez. U da mun.

Your unreleased copy must be perfect if this is the quality level you shared. Yes, I've noticed (suspect) you hold back the perfect quality from the scene. Why else would you have reversed audio channels, sync issues, less than perfect encoding etc..? Once you know the proper settings for encoding its just clicking the ENCODE button. How can someone mess that up? They don't. They choose to. Whatever the reason, it doesn't matter... the bottom line is: THANKS FOR DOING WHAT YOU DO maVen

Yes, your Cars release is close enough to perfect to be considered top notch. Very watchable and enjoyable. Thanks

It's good to see Maven releases a movie like Cars.. on the first try we get a great quality release otherwise we'd already had 12 or 13 repack-proper-real-proper-final-proper-repack... from random groups.

Great video, good audio but reversed stereo (Used VLC to fix), great flick.

I thought the concession stand audio was fucking hilarious and I am glad they left it in. It .. was .. funnier than the whole movie. Great Job all around a big fxck you to all the bashers.

I love Pixar flicks. I especially enjoyed the Pixar short in the beginning: "One Man Band."
Also, when the twins flashed their "headlights" at Lightning McQueen was hilarious.

Thanks maVen.

P.S. No audio sync issues here. Using MPC and ffdshow to get that video looking tip-top.

A - 9
M - 9

Really can't fault this, top quality.

Posted by Red_Tides99 on 06-13-2006 05:19 AM:

V - 9 (Best you can get with a cam. Little washed in bright scenes but nearly flawless, 3 twat moments during the movies 2nd disc)

A - 6.5 (Gets a tad bit of distortion near the end in the music, Lobby announcement on 2nd disc, reversed stereo, but really really sounds good otherwise)

M - 10 (Have to give it to Pixar they did it yet again. And this is one of the movies that they could easily make a sequel to without shitting all over the first movie.)

I've watched this twice now and will try to make it to the theatre to show my support. I want to really see the end credit segments as well. It's really up there with the rest of the Pixar films. Gives a good sense of nostalgic Americana in the movie. Most of the background in the desert is comprised of car hoods with ornaments. Also the one formation in town is a old-stlye gas cap. Loved it.

maVen strikes again!

v 10 (this is as good as a ts gets, i cant remember a better ts than this, better than the russian "telecines". nice colors, usual dust marks etc from cinema reel, a good old fashioned ts )

a 9 (very good compared to direct audio of late, slight distortion on louder scenes and a very very slight hiss, and hilarious concession stand announcement, overall decent)

m ? (havent watched yet, but looks good, i like pixar films)

i know people always say "stop sucking maVen's dick" but seriously, they do make the best cammed releases out there, so they deserve our praise

encoding software is the equivalent of The 404 going on a diet and walking thru the door. takes longer and sometimes more skill, but ultimately worth it.

maVen as always rules. AS for Sync issues at 28:49 on CD2 I played with Nero Showtime and never had a issue through the entire movie and I use crappy k-lite codecs. So whoever was talking about that is sadly mistaken
V=10 (dont care if 10's are a no no this is the best TS I have ever scene)
A=9 Very Slight hiss and audio channels reversed but nothing that will affect negitivly on the movie experience
M=9 Nice best sience Shriek

I thougth I was seeing a dvd rip! resolution is higher than
dvd rips, 704 x320. If only all releases were like these...

These maven guys sure know what they´re doing.

state of the art CAM, forget those flammers that really
don´t know what they´re seeing or talking about.

No sync issues that I´ve noticed, it was a perfect viewing
experience, with the common random heads. comment was
very funny, it did add a "theather experience."

reversed sound?so what? this is the best CAM I´ve ever seen.

Forgot to post this one...

Video 8 - Animations always look great. Someone walking across a couple of times, but otherwise good quality.

Audio 8 - some problems, but if the announcement goes across even the direct output, not much they can do. Didn't notice the synch issue or reversed sound, but considering most cams have mono...

movie 7 - great cast, original story, but preachy corny moral ending...

excellent quality "cam" with what sounds like direct audio..

8/8/8

check this out tho..

1) why would they still leave in the anti piracy ad in the begining?

2) why would they leave in the "xx xx please come to the concession stand".. its obvious they have & used a/v editing tools..

3) the shadowy "figure" on the begining of the 2nd disc, that just kind of hops & skips back to his seat.. slow it down & frame by frame it.. this "figure" isnt human.. its a shadowed computer generated graphic that they inserted into the rip.. again.. why would they do this?

theories, anyone?

V - 9 .. beautiful picture, especially for such an early release!!
A - 8 .. that little announcement in the begining of CD2 was a little annoying!!
M - 9 ... FREAKIN GREAT!!!!

Very watchable. Great Maven release. Just don't watch on standalone players or it'll be out of sync. Reverse channel problem as stated above also, but it didn't annoy me or my family!

Posted by jasperdave on 06-20-2006 09:24 PM:

the quality is excellent video 9 Audio 9 the second cd has a break in the movie which someone from the theatre ask for someone to come to the snack stand to get their kids

Posted by aaron on 06-21-2006 05:42 AM:

Wow

BIG props to Maven on this realease. I haven't seen a release this good for a few years for sure. Once it's on the television, you could easily mistake it for a retail DVD. I love you guys, and Pixar is simply the best.

Posted by frak on 06-23-2006 09:18 AM:

didn't watch the maven xvid release, but rather someone that was nice enough to re-encode it to svcd (cce, multipass).

Anyhow, watched it on the TV tonight. This is easily the best TS I've seen in a long time. Colors are great, video sharp and audio was clear (the annoucement at the beginning of disc 2 over the theater loud speaker was hilarious to boot).

the movie was ok.. but the opening "short" killed me. Watched the short twice.

v: 9
a: 8
m: 7 (for the movie) / 9 (for the short).

Seeing all these xvid TS's pop up, time for another dvd player i guess. pisser, as this upconverting samsung is less than a year old.

Posted by McFlipp on 06-24-2006 01:37 PM:

Ok, i watched it last night. And i have to say, this is a fine TS. Audio is pretty good, a little noise, not perfectly clear, but pretty nice. Audio from Cars.TC.XviD-ZN is btw better, perfectly clear.

Video is damn nice, nearly no cropping, really sharp (also like the resolution of the rip!) colours are bit to bright imho, but i like it Way better than the oversaturated picture of Cars.TC.XviD-ZN...

Movie, well it was kinda fun, it looked awesome, but overall not that interesting.

Audio: 7/10
Video: 8/10
Movie: 6/10
