Review : The Hot Chick (2002)

theres times when i download the vcd, and theres times when i wait until the theater release in this country to see a film. usually, i'll burn off a screener (*sometimes* a telesync) of a film if im either desperate to see it, and not prepared to wait x months for it to finally arrive here...

or if i know its going to be complete and utter dross.

can you guess which this is ?

my awesome intellect decided, for the first time in about 3 years, not to bother burning it off, and just watch it using the TV Out. a practice i dont usually bother with, cos im usually too lazy to set it up, but it was plugged in, so why not.

ok, lets start with the 'plot' (ok, i loosely used that word, so i apologise if i caused any offense) rob schneider is a thief who steals a girls earring which she inturn stole from an african based store. overnight they 'switch' places, and the preppy high school bitch now has his body. hilarious. didn't we see this in Big and Vice Versa nearly 15 odd years ago? the answer is yes, but why should a schneider film be new or inventive. much easier to rehash old movies, and put pathetic 'jokes' (theres those ' marks again) about her having a penis in it.

well what can i say.. generally, if you want the film to end happily and everyone to return back to their correct bodies, you have to have some like for the characters. why the hell should i show any compassion to some cheerleader bitch who causes unhappiness all around her, and some petit garage thief? personally i was hoping in the end they'd both contract some disease, and they'd all die. including their dumbass friends. but i'll never know how the film finished, cos about 45mins into it, i turned it off and deleted it. im not letting this trash disolve my brain faster than the most powerful of halucenegenic drugs can, so after the hilarious "girl in mans body doesn't understand how to pee" joke (personally, i dont understand that, surely a girl would know a dick is for piss too right, .. right??) i thought time is enough, this big delete key was hit.

this was the best decision i made that entire day.

so, unless the second half of the movie is a genius satire of everything before it, with new characters, actors and more importantly, plot, this film is probably the worst thing i've nearly sat thru in my entire life. but i'll still give it a score above 1 because i know around this very corner, schneider is working on something even worse.

I think you guys must be right about this movie sucking. I've never seen it myself, but the amount of customers who want ticket refunds at work for this movie is astronomical. And every time I walk in to clean it afterwards I run into those stupid “outtakes” of Rob messing up a simple line 20 times, must have been hell to watch this.

I give the movie a three.

Pro's of the movie:

Funny as hell
Did I mention it was funny?

Con's:

Unoriginal Plot (switching bodies)
You could guess the ending 20 minutes into the movie...


Edit: Thats 3 out of 5 btw...

I'm not even going to bother reading the review for this movie. Let me just tell you what me AND my girlfriend said once the movie was over with and we stood up in the theatre, and literally said, out loud;

"That was the stupidest fucking movie I have EVER seen."

Some people looked at us like we were retarded, others just looked and we could almost see the applause in their eyes.

I have no clue how anyone could have any respect for this movie, Rob Schnieder (sp) has fucked his career with movies such as this and The Animal.
