Review: (2002) 25th. Hour w/Edward Norton

One of the more unrated actors in cinema today is the charismastic, Edward Norton. In the new movie directed by Spike Lee, Norton plays a drug dealer Monty Brogan, who was convicted of dealing in drugs, and sentenced to spend 7 years of his life behind bars.

Spike Lee's direction is more subdued and tame in his latest drama, not featuring a "black" theme, but a more contemporary twist.

On probably what I consider the longest night in cinema, Brogan parties the night away, visiting with his father, his long time friends Jacob and Barry, and his salsy, and beautiful girlfriend, Naturelle, played by Rosario Dawson in probably her best role to date.

25th Hour features Brogan's relationship with his friends, and this is where Spike Lee's direction really takes off.

25th. Hour isn't one of Spike's Best, but if takes off really well.

25th Hour is rated R for language, and some sexual situations.

My rating: a 8 out of 10.

do you think it's award worthy, even for a Spike Lee movie? I saw the trailer and it looks pretty good.

i want to see this movie so bad that i couldn't wait for the dvd scr and just got the obus copy. i'm going to watch it in a few and i'm sure it will be good. Barry Pepper is one of my favorite actors
