recording dvd movie onto vhs
jsut wondering how easy it is to record whats being played on a dvd player on a vhs player, will any specail cables etc need to be done or is it a simple case of getting the vhs player recording whats on the screen?
borich
You have to have a player, or a program, or a firmware upgrade that will defeat Macrovision. Most DVD's have Macrovision technology that senses when you are hooking up a player to a VCR and will distort the picture (VCR's cant handle the extra sync pulses and fake video data that Macrovision encoded media puts out)

Oh, it's just JC
any idea where i can get one from?
Depending on what player you have you might be able to hack it to disable macrovision.Check your players abilities at vcdhelp.com
I have a tv with a built in vcr and i can record dvd's without any special hardware/mods etc. if u have one try it, not sure if it works for everyone tho.
