Review: (2003) Shanghai Knights with Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson
Not going to give much away with this review, cause most of it, you have seen in the previews.
Former Chinese Guard, and Train Robber, Chon Wang (pronounced John Wayne) and Roy O'Bannon became sheriff and deputies of the old west as we left them at the end of the first movie.
However in the sequel Shanghai Knights, they are taken off the range, and headed to London when Chon gets a distressed message from his sister Lin, that their estranged father is brutally murdered, and he and Roy leave the old west to head for rainy London.
This is where the fun of the movie takes off.
While they make their way to London, Lin uncovers a plot to knock off the royal family, almost no one believes her except a kindly old Scotland Yard detective, and a 10 year old street urchin.
Chan at his very best in this film attempts to avenge his father's death and keep sex-minded Roy away from his sister.
Shanghai Knights in my opinion is more funnier and should put away the original at the box office, as Owen Wilson is given much funnier material and shows why he is one of Hollywood's most underrated comedians
My only regret in this movie that Lucy Liu didn't make it, but Fann Wong, who plays Chan's sister in this movie is ok by me.
Shanghai Knights is rated PG-13 for language, violence, and sexual content.
Shanghai Knights hits theatres on February 7, 2003

He bought it at our local mall so the whole fiasco wound up on the news, it was embarrassing for my relatives and all, but the next week he did it again, different cat, same results, complete with another trip to the emergency room! So I run into him a week later in the mall and he’s buying another cat and I says to ‘em "Jesus Walt, what are you doing? You know your just gonna get this cat stuck up your ass too, why don’t you knock it off?" And he says to me "Brodie, how the hell else am I supposed to get the gerbil out?" My cousin was a weird guy....

If you read my review carefully, you'd realize I never said that..
Former Chinese Guard, and Train Robber, Chon Wang (pronounced John Wayne) and Roy O'Bannon became sheriff and deputies of the old west as we left them at the end of the first movie
Never said Chan's character was a Train Robber.
I was referring to their respective occupations from the first movie.
Wake up!! lol

I personally hated the original Shanghai Noon. I thought it was kinda dull so i really didn't hold out much hope about this one but i have to admit it is better. Not sure i would have given it a 9 tho (prolly a 7 but i would have given Shanghai Noon a 3)

I completely disagree with you on this, i Loved the original, but this sequel was lame. It reminded me of Men in Black 2. It took all the jokes from the original and redid them poorly. I have to admit there are afew funny parts, such as the yelling at the Orphan about not having parents. But the rest is just not funny. And i also didn't like the fact that Lucy Liu wasn't in the movie. But I guess she was making Ballistic, the blockbuster event of the summer

What I found really refreshing about this movie is that when Jackie faced off With Donnie Yen and then that other guy, they completely kicked the shit out of him, youve got to give it to Jackie for letting that in the script, the guys gettin on, hes knows it and he can live with it and accept gracefully. Nice one Jackie!
I also enjoyed this movie..it was a lot more fun than the first one
7 out of 10
