So Im told.

All you damn people stop reading books that way when you see the possible Book->Movie you have nothing to be dissapointed about.

Books are much, much, much better than movies when it comes to telling a story. I've always have read a lot, enjoy everything from sci-fi to thrillers to horror to drama. Just finished a novel by Stephen Frey, and the newest one from John Grisham, plus re-read a star wars book.

the bourne identity movie was completely different than the book. i read the book right before the movie came out and i was all pumped to see a great book made into a great movie. i was pissed as hell after that movie, it could have been so much better if they had spent some time writing a decent screenplay for that book.

i'm more curious to know if the made for tv movie of it from 1989 ish as any good

Posted by sirspankalot on 02-01-2003 03:36 AM:

the made for tv movie was closer to the book than the recent movie, but it still sucked.

lol i read in entertainment weekly way back when the movie was about to be released that they spent like a whole lot of years re-writing it trying to get it perfect.

i personally loved it, but i never read the book so i cant compare the two

nah..but do you really expect them to shoot a fancy scene and spend more money on production for it? :}

anyways..I saw themovie a couple weeks ago..and it kicked some major bootay

movies are never as good as books it seems...especially the JP Series(1 & 2) dunno if 3 even had a book.but it sucked anyways

but the reason they change them so much is for a wider audience..the people who read the books may like a book version more, but for those unfamiliar w/the book and the details they choose to appease

If you read the book then the movie sucked.
If you didnt read the book then the movie was great.

Simularities between book and movie:
character names, amnesia, uuummm....thats about it.

Differances between book and movie:
EVERYTHING ELSE. bourne doesnt even want to find out who he really is in the movie, bourne is supposed to be older, marie is supposed to be a canadian economist, WHERE IS CARLOS, bourne speaks like 5 languages in the book, also no mention of his previous family.

they could of done much better on the movie but this is what happens when you hire a idiot for a screen writer/director. Photography was great and so was the scenery.
