A Clockwork Orange.

I just saw this movie for the first time a few nights ago. Very very very good. I suggest this movie to anyone who enjoys a good thinking movie. It was directed by Stanley Kubrick. IMDB here --> http://us.imdb.com/Title?0066921 I know this isn't a review, I just want to know what others thought about this film? It has changed the way I look at movies and it is now in my top 20 list of favorite movies. Then again, I loved Army of Darkness...so I may not be the best source for movie suggestions Anyways, any thoughts?

army of darkness is a sam raimi film, and is therefore genius, so thats not a sign of bad taste by any means.

Sam Raimi.... How can you argue with a guy who got Katie Holmes from Dawson's Creek to get her kit off in The Gift.

I tip my hat at thee.

i loved Clockwork Orange, i think Stanley Kubrick is one of the best directors of all time. The Shining was also a great movie of his.

kickass movie, without realizing the moment i watched it, it made me think about violence in general ... (sounds gheyish prolly )

Check out Salo, http://us.imdb.com/Title?0073650 ...

You should read the book. It's fuckin' tremendous!
Makes the film seem even better when you've read the book since you can see how hard it must have been to transfer it to the big screen.

if you liked a clockwork orange you should check out kubricks other works

Space Odyssey: 2001
The Shining
Dr. Strangelove: Or how i learned to stop worrying and love the bomb
Spartacus
Eyes Wide Shut
Full Metal Jacket

All of them share the same general theme on mankind, so they are all interrelated in a way.

Spartacus was disowned by Kubrick after altercations with the studio, but it is still a good movie. Clockwork Orange was fucking brilliant especially if you consider when it was made. I'll also have to agree with pHo, Sam Rami is a genius, one of the best filmmakers out there. Army Of Darkness rules....

I know im the only person who thinks this but i thought clockwork orange sucked ass. My problem is that i have to have a character that i feel for or like and everybody in this movie pissed me off. They were all such ass holes. So i guess in that respect there was good acting. but i hated the rest of it.

The current Retail Clockwork Orange is very cut

so much so that its a different ending

the older version was not thumbs up in the hospital

its the electric chair sequence . There was an episode of the Simpsons that took the piss outa it

i loved Clockwork Orange, Kubrick is the MAN. I love everything Raimi touches.... except his penis... or another guys penis... or his ass... or another guys ass... just... any movie project he is involved with just rules....

back to kubrick: 2001: Space Odyssey is one of my favorite movies, and so is Full Metal Jacket. and Strangelove.... is a goddamn funny movie.

:: You told me you loved penis and ass

so if i was to go and rent this movie, it would have a different ending? which ending is better? newer version or original version? i have heard tons about this movie, and always wanted to check it out.

Posted by timmoy on 02-20-2003 12:31 PM:

The older version

the current version makes it seem that him and his friends have overrided society

Kubrick said he never wanted it released again
But u know film companies , So they cut it down so its not so bad

Kubrick was the one who banned it after he saw a group jeering while a women was raped in it

Kubrick is a Pure genious (except eyes wide shut)

Agreed. One of my favorite books and movies.

The Simpsons did a nice job with the Santa's Little Helper/Clockwork Orange bit.

Incorrect,

When the movie originally came out in britain it was banned. Kubirck said, fine then for as long as I live this movie will never be allowed to be released in Britain. Everyone knows Kubirck recently died, and now it is finally being released. This film is Kubricks vision, not cut in any way.
