Yes another Comic Book coming to Big Screen.

20th Century Fox unleashed the Daredevil movie into theaters on Thursday evening and playing with the film is the new action-packed trailer for the comic adaptation of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Created by Alan Moore, the story centers around a team of extraordinary figures culled from great adventure literature who are recruited by a mysterious caller to stop a villain intent on turning the nations of the world against one another. In the film, which Fox will promote heavily as 'LXG', the remarkable coterie of heroes is led by Allan Quartermain (Sean Connery) and comprises Dracula vampiress Mina Harker (Peta Wilson), the Invisible Man (Tony Curran), Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde (Jason Flemyng), Tom Sawyer (Shane West), Captain Nemo (Naseeruddin Shah), and Dorian Gray (Stuart Townsend).

wanted to get ur thoughts..and for all you comic book fans..a pretty solid website listing for all the comic books and their impending leap to the big screen can be found here..

nice thread idea mate, me myself am gettin a bit fed up with the same old releases from hollyweird.
Isnt Daredevil just a hybrid spiderman/spawn/batman ?? i mean how many times do we have to see a tortured mind character gripping a rooftop cross ???

Isnt it aout time hollywood took a risk again and portraid a comic book line out of the norm ??? Something not of marvel would be a good start. Stan lee is a god but he is slightly one dimensional in his characters.

Last original film from a comic book was "road to perdition" and it was a great outing. So come on hollywood take a chance

Being a comic book nerd, I have to point out that DareDevil has been around for decades longer than Spawn. And he's a much better character. Todd McFarlane's art is nice and all, but he can't write worth a damn.

I'm still hoping for a comic book adaptation of The Watchmen. That'd be an ensemble comic book movie that would be different than the norm. Oh well....it'll never happen.

He bought it at our local mall so the whole fiasco wound up on the news, it was embarrassing for my relatives and all, but the next week he did it again, different cat, same results, complete with another trip to the emergency room! So I run into him a week later in the mall and he’s buying another cat and I says to ‘em "Jesus Walt, what are you doing? You know your just gonna get this cat stuck up your ass too, why don’t you knock it off?" And he says to me "Brodie, how the hell else am I supposed to get the gerbil out?" My cousin was a weird guy....

i agree daredevil as a comic has been around longer than spawn, but we were commenting on the movie versions of which spawn was ages before. And yes the kevin smith written version of daredevil man withour fear from marvels released "black knights" comics is by far the best ( nice appearance of him in the film btw ) i still feel the movies being rushed out to capitalise on the comic hero popularity lacks greatly.
ben afleck as daredevil to me is a miscast, he is a square jawed all american boy much better suited to a captain america character then the tortured soul of daredevil. WTF do they all have to be pretty boy mr populars ?? Daredevil is a loner going his own path keep it that way

Iron Man has been given the go ahead to be made for 2004/2005

I'd prefer it be called The Right Honorable Gentlemen, for the sake of the Brits whom roam these hallowed halls...might make them feel like they have something to contribute to a blockbuster movie

If done correctly, this movie could blow the hell out of 90% of all other comic book movies. Unfortunately, I doubt it'll be done correctly. Moviegod, have you heard anything about it?

Anyone....anyone? Beuhler....

It's rare that movies are done correctly imho.

Boy, Hollywood sure does know how to milk something. Look at the list of comics coming. Xmen2, The Hulk, LOEG, Batman, Superman, The Fantastic 4, Catwoman, Daredevil 2, Iron Man, Spiderman 2, will it ever end?

I was looking foward to LOEG but rumours are flying about huge fights and problems on the set. I guess Sean Connery and the director don't agree on much...

Yes one and the same....

Posted by Dwaggy on 03-03-2003 01:29 PM:

Comic books that deserve to be adapted to big screen:

Johnny the homicidal maniac
by Jhonen Vasquez

Maybe even include the "Squee!" and "I feel sick" Sub plots in it!

Preacher
by Garth Ennis

PLEASE!

Jay and Silent bob Issue #2 (Doogie nights!)
by Kevin Smith

Too bad this wont happen, but it'd be great still

Anyone hear anything about the Ghost Rider movie? I seem to remember hearing something about them bringing it to the big screen. Another one I think would make a great movie would be The Silver Surfer....

Posted by petrocs on 03-06-2003 04:11 AM:

OK oK so we got

Hellboy
Ghost Rider
X Men 2
Hulk
Amazing Spiderman
Elektra (not necessary in my opinion..it'll bomb)
Daredevil 2
Iron Fist
A New Superman
Batman 5
World Finest (Hopefully)
Blade 3

I would like to see Preacher..Gambit (oh god please!) and a REAL Punisher movie
