Unhappy

Damn....slightly jerky on my Apex, ala Red Dragon and Roger Dodger. Is this a Pal -> NTSC thing or is TCS f*cking up these rips?

how are the ratings being calculated? Is it calculated by the moderators or us users? If so, where can i vote for my ratings? I see people put stuff like 8/8/8 on their posts. Is that a way to vote for your ratings?

QUALITY AND SOUND ARE GOOD

THE FILM IS A BIT WEIRD

Posted by daporp on 02-24-2003 02:12 AM:

This one is kinda screwed up.

If you analyze the bitrate in bitrate viewer, it shows that it consistantly spikes out of SVCD standard range. Thus it cannot playback properly on my DVD player, and thus pisses me off.

You guys need to make SVCD's when you say you're making SVCD's, and XSVCD's when you say you're making XSVCD's, not mix them together because they are NOT the same.

Hopefully someone will do a proper of this, cause I really wanted to see it.

Posted by rseiler on 02-24-2003 05:40 AM:

I don't know, is that any kind of indication? I just ran a couple other SVCD's through that utility, and they broke 3000 at times too. Regardless, it does seem a little jerky in WinDVD, and it sounds like it's hit and miss to play at all, or at least well, on standalones. I'd like to hear how more people are faring with those.

Posted by gloomboy on 02-24-2003 08:43 PM:

So-- I watched this Friday night on the Apex 'cause I *really* wanted to see it. It's jerky all the way through, but to be perfectly honest-- there's so little OVERALL movement by anything or anybody in the entire movie it's only moderately irritating. Most of the time you might as well be watching a cast filled with statues. As for the film itself-- an interesting failure IMHO. Not quite up there with Cronenberg's best, but even his misses are more watchable than 90% of the drek I sit through.

YMMV

is there anyway to fix this? like converting to ntsc or something and how?
