How can a VCD look this good? This IS a VCD, right?
quote:This is an original vcd, the retail they sell in asia. All they had to do was bin/cue with cdrwin no ripping required. The other releases seem to be pdvd.

indeed, an origvcd is a retail release, hence properly mastered and should look around the same as an original VHS. as the group has no encoding to do, the quality should be pretty good (depends on the label generally)

Nope, still only the 90-minute version. The 120-minute DVD is supposedly out next week in China.

Encoding? What's the point if you have to encode? Usually a factor only related to DVDRips, not vcd retails.
Pv version is a screener. Look at their post.
hey, do you guys know when the cantonese version go come out?
quote:every vhs screener (hell, every vhs rip period) go through an encoding process.

Good movie, But it's missing about 8 mins of english subs towards the end of disk 2.
sorry Vtec....misinterpreted your statement...but since HkM does not usually offer screeners, but rather offer retail version, thus you are correct in what you said.
If you get a chance, take alook at HkM's dvd-svcd rips, HkM's encoding team does an excellent job. I have not seen a bad rip ever.

Can't find this anywhere atm but if it IS missing subs will wait for the extended DVD

quote:Yea, I just watched a few minutes of this rip and it's by far the best version out. Proper aspect ratio and the image quality is as good as it gets for a vcd release.
