the bitrate is at 3024 peak, 2572 avg. Well above accepted scene standards.

oh yeah... and the movie is nothing more than the mighty ducks with hockey replaced by rap.
not worth the time

Posted by Rep- on 03-04-2003 12:58 AM:

No you don't PRiNT. Only lame nukers with shitty ass DVD Players that are too cheap to buy a new one nukes it. Who the fuck cares if they can't watch it. Most people have good DVD Players that play the higher bitrate perfectly fine. And of course sheep nukers.

Posted by MAFiA TGP on 03-04-2003 01:23 AM:

Sheep nukers my ass.. and 'good dvd players' dude get a clue.. if your willing to spend more than $200 on a 'good dvd player' such as Sony or Philips which don't usually play VCD's.. then your the sheep. Stop standing up for shit groups who cant follow the fucking rules. If you don't know how to rip then don't fucking rip.

Posted by m-drew on 03-04-2003 01:25 AM:

8pass vbr

LOL!

realllllllly...... I rip 4pass vbr and it looks 10x better then that piece of shit.

Prolly 2pass vbr

I prob won't even dl this, I'm happy with the dvdscreener.. that was just as good, only difference is the screening purpose that came up twice during the whole movie. *shrugs* but anyways good job TCI on the retail off it. 6/8/8

I get 2494k max video bitrate with 224k audio, don't see where u can go over max video, unless ur adding both together. Plus 2494k is well below standards. (Just going from sample)

Posted by sweetsour on 03-04-2003 03:06 AM:

It doesn't go above 2500 on sample.
Also burned cd1 and it was fine in my dvd player.

So I really think its just lame nukers copying each other, someone must have got a bad bitrate by a lame util. Remember when you watch and look at bitrate changing, its not always correct, there can be always some calculating errors.

props to dci (though I already watched it in cinemas!)

2494k is not well below standards at all. standards are either 2450 (for compliency with all pioneer players) or 2500.

and rep-, that truly was the dumbest comment on here so far. whether a player can play eXtended bitrates has absolutely nothing to do with its quality as a player. my $100 player will play eXtended without a problem, but i bet you most >$1000 players will not.

NTSC (NTSC Film)

Video:
max 2600 kbit/sec MPEG-2 (Audio + Video bitrate max bitrate is 2778 kbit/s).
480 x 480 pixels (CVD 352x480)
29,97 frames/second
23,976 frames/second with 3:2 pulldown (NTSC Film)

Audio:
from 32 - 384 kbit/sec MPEG-1 Layer2

those r the svcd compliance stanards

scene imposes 224kbit audio

so video should not surpass 2554

this movie worked fine on me player though
no idea why it's said to be overbitrate or whatever

will not.

Scene standards all accept anything which are below 2500. If some Pioneer can't play, too bad.
There are a lot of players out there which won't be able to play even 2000, cause they are not made for svcd playing..

Hmmm nowadays $200 buys you a good combo dvd player they got progressive scan panasonics or toshibas that play any damn thing you throw at it for 149 but I can't wait for divx dvd players yeaaaaaaaaaaaa technolodgy....

and what are we going to do next year when they start doing HDTV dvds?????

there are no official standards, there are just a few guidelines that are accepted, some state 2450 for total compliency, some state 2500. hence why i posted what i posted.

and as pioneer were one of the main manufacturers of dvd player people were using to playback SVCD, then yes it does matter. generally the newer players do not suffer from this problem, but the older ones did so it was generally accepted that 2450 is the max to be used. most encoding engines dont really pay as much attention to the settings anyway, but thats the way things are.

can't say i've ever seen any standards list state a video b/r that high personally, and i've seen quite a few. as stated, none are officially imposed, which is kinda annoying, as the TDX rules work well for DivX (albeit, theres so many niggles and annoyances with that damn format it needs em) but i'd say 2554 is a bit high for quite a lot of players. personally, i can' play up to 7000kbit without any probs, so i dont really care if a release has a highbr problem, but thats not the fact for everyone, so compliency issues shouldn't be ignored.

Nice pre but I also think the TCF DVD Screener was much better. I don't believe this release is really 8 passes but who cares. Movie itself owned, I don't care what others say... They just hate Eminem 6/9/10, I also got a Pioneer so I guess I'm skipping this release.

The flick played fine on my standalone. Good picture and sound throughout. No idea what the rest of the people in the thread are chatting about. If it works, it works.
