Welcome back FTV

I know tv rips are not usually the topic of great discussion, but I'd just like to voice my opinion on how pleased I am to see that FTV managed to snatch back the rips of 24 from QLTVCD!
Not sure if the QL was supposed to stand for quality or anything, but the viewing experience of 24 has been marred over the past 3 weeks by the absolutely shite rips done by QLTVCD!
Pixelated all over the shop and with sound pops and dropouts!
It's one thing being faster, but what's the point if you're doing a crap job?

pre-air vcd was never ment to be of amazing crisp dvd-like quality... it was for the bastards who can't wait 2+ more days for a SVCD.

and at least qlt was in ws.

I prefer FTV rips of 24 over QLTVCD's as well... but I'm not like overly excited or anything... I still enjoy QLTVCD rips of 24... the rare pixelation isn't a big problem.. I just want to watch the show... especially without commericals!

I didn't mind QLTVCD's releases. Sure they were a little glitchy but not overly so and it was a nice change not to have it fullscreen. Besides there were FTV internals if you REALLY wanted them over the QLTVCD release.

Anyway. Having said that, this episode was great. Very clean pic and sound. No gliches or pops in sound.

The quality on these is pretty good for VCD, but why can't teh release groups release them as SVCD instead (or as well)? The quality would be much better, and seeing as an episode of 24 takes up a CD anyway, it would be fine to do an 800MB SVCD episode, with really good quality.
