Another Jack Ryan Role for Affleck

Paramount has acquired the rights to Tom Clancy's thriller RED RABBIT, another turn with the Jack Ryan character. Robert Rodat (SAVING PRIVATE RYAN) has been tapped to adapt the material, which centers on Ryan early in his CIA career. He must aid in debriefing a defector that tells them that the Soviets are planning on assassinating the Pope and destabilizing the West. No word on whether Ben Affleck will return to the Ryan role of if yet another Jack Ryan will be sought.

God I hope its not Affleck again

Red Rabbit? I can't believe that's the name of a Tom Clancy book. That's as bad as Reindeer Games.

(sigh) Affleck is such a pussy. They should cast Edward Burns or Edward Norton as Jack Ryan.
