Goldman Discovers Captain Marvel
New Line has tapped William Goldman (DREAMCATCHER) to adapt DC Comics' book SHAZAM! for the silver screen. The comic book centers on Billy Batson, a mild mannered teenager that is given powers by an ancient wizard. When he utters the word "Shazam," he is transformed into Captain Marvel. Shazam is an acronym for Marvel's abilities: the wisdom of Solomon, strength of Hercules, stamina of Atlas, power of Zeus, courage of Achilles and speed of Mercury. Michael Uslan (BATMAN) is executive producing.

I've always liked William Goldman, I'm into screenwriting (I've probably mentioned this many times), but I've never even heard of SHAZAM! Is this just me, or should i know what it is?

He is a pretty cool comic, I really would like to see him developed into something more....be interesting to see who plays him.. Perhaps maybe Dean Cain, from The Adventures of Lois and Clark.

Well, I hope it is cool. It'd be nice to see William Goldman write a smart, funny script. He's done some great movies. (and books, for anyone that read "Which Lie Did I Tell?") Dreamcatcher wasn't that great though, it lacked something. The effects were overall good and exciting, and some of the dialogue was good, but there was just something missing.

I am somewhat disappointed in the Tomb Raider trailer..it looks like a really bad thrown together movie..guess I'll have to wait to see MG's review to see if I am right

the trailer was poorly done in my opinion. It seemed to drag on.
