Hey, isn't this release almost a decade late? Better late than never I suppose.

Dunno why you're all being gay..
DVD isn't due out for a little while, so this is a legitimate release.

7/6/6

I agree, I really hope a DVD-R group release this. I have been very happy with all my Disney DVD-r's, DVD-r's in general that I have burned! DTS is so much better then AC3 or Stereo audio! Keep up the good work!

Posted by rhedeye on 04-04-2003 03:28 PM:

yeah I really hope it will get released as dvd-r, because those fuckheads at disney wont release this before October!!! at least that was what we could see infront of the treasure planet dvd-r.

best release ever!!!!!!!! this movie is fucking awesome! the dvd comes out october 9th this year!

this movie is amazing it doesnt matter how old you are

rls is what u expect from a dvd scr =-/

Posted by Commy on 04-04-2003 04:49 PM:

well the dvd isnt coming out for a bit, and this movie was recently shown on imax screens, so no real probs having a dvdscr of it

looks and sound beautiful, despite the small blur

My own personal laserdisc ownz j00!

S-Video captured to MPEG2 on a Matrox RT2000.

US rips usually only use composite as output so the quality of the image is lower (Yes I am fully aware that laserdisc is composite as source. But even so S-Video out on my fancy Pioneer player plus some trickery in the innards of the player make the image shine!).

Wanna see an example?

I've seen the sample so my opinion counts!

nice nice, 8/8/8 i judge the movie based on how many times i've
watched it as a kid.

no need to explain y u rls'ed it; its not on DVD so its a good rls.
i dont think DVD SCR is the proper term 2 use; More of SVCD plain by itself. All and all; nice.

svcd is the format..dvdscr is source..two different things

this is a screener that was on a dvd, hence dvdscr

I would still like the DVDSCR burnt to DVD-R over any SVCD. Ohh BTW if anyone wants any DVD-R "Backups" burnt let me know. [email protected] Just send me dvd-r and I have no prob burning it for ya. Got 2 dvd-RW now, that is why.

Instead of trying to be the first to post about a new release, have some sense & some knowledge on what you're commenting on. The BEST quality release out of this so far is a Laser Disc release that came out in 95. The DVD comes out in October 2003, so of course Disney & Buena Vista are sending out DVD Screeners to resellers & rental stores, thus this release is warranted.

Buena Vista (Disney's parent company) and it's subsidiaries have never produced a DVD Screener before so I'm sort of sketchy about this being a real dvd screener but hey, as long as it's decent quality then why not.

True, but possibly they're doing it because it's such a big release (considered one of the best animations ever.) Waste of money IMO as any sensible video store & reseller will purchase a copy or more. Maybe it's a new thing as Jungle Book 2 DVDSCR was also released by Disney/BV.
edit: assuming the JB2 dvdscr is real...

Posted by DVDyke on 04-05-2003 08:17 PM:

There is no DVD screener of this movie. There is a bootleg DVD made from a laserdisc capture (I have it). I also have the original laserdisc from which I captured using the Matrox RT2000 and S-Video.

The retail will be out in october and will include a remastered and partially reanimated digital print plus a new song and footage as well as a remastered soundtrack.

If you wish to be anal and geeky (Like me) read all about it over at www.lionking.org

Anyone else have trouble burning this movie? My Nero is telling me it is too large a file. I haven't had this problem on a movie for over a year.

Any help? I can;t seem to get overburn to work.

Jimmy

:: I'd suggest that you stop using Nero. -K::
