Review: Analyze That (2002)
Review source: Analyze.That.DVDRip.SVCD-TCF
Analyze That is a mafia themed comedy staring Rebert DeNiro (Meet the Parents, City by the Sea), and Billy Crystal (Monsters Inc., Analyze This). It is the sequel to 1999's Analyze This.
Robert DeNiro plays a mobster named Paul Vitti, who is spending time in prison. However, after several murder attemps against him, he realizes he needs to get out. So he pretends to be insane so he can be released into the custody of a shrink, Ben Sobel, whom he knew from the first movie, played by Billy Crystal. Sobel quickly realizes he's faking though, and things get crazier from there.
The acting is decent, and as always, Robert DeNiro has the most outtakes at the end of the film. Crystal is pretty funny, too, but then again he always is. Lisa Kudrow (Friends) has a few good moments too.
The movie isn't really that funny, unfortunately. There's a few good laughs here and there, but the charm and the novelty of the first movie aren't as effective the second time around. I didn't find myself as entertained as I was in the first movie, nor did I laugh as much.
Still, overall, Analyze That is an okay movie. It's not a terrible film by any means. It has its funny moments, I'll give it that. Not a movie you'll want to buy, but worth downloading, or renting when it comes out on DVD.
