Review:(2003) SClub : Seeing Double
Sclub are a funny old thing. You cant deny that while they are complete and utter shite they have that certain appeal that stops you from turning over the TV or switching the Radio off when their annoyingly catchy tunes come on. I defy anyone not to dance like a freaking idiot when pissed out of your head when Don't stop moving' comes on the dancefloor at a club!
Sclub's latest fare is a trip to big screen. Not content with dominating the charts and having a hit children's TV show. They want to make it on the big screen too. Not so unexpected as they are managed by ex Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller. What is unexpected is that this film is infinitely better than that SpiceWorld drivel the spicey's churned out a few years ago. Infact Seeing Double is actually quite entertaining. Sure it aint no Oscar Winner but if you want a no brainer popcorn experience then at the moment (at least in the UK) there is no better.
If you've seen any of the TV show then you've probably got a good idea about what to expect here. In essence Seeing Double is just a 90 minute version of the TV show....just on a bigger screen.
So someone has cloned Tina, Rachel, Hannah, Jo, Bradley and Jon (Phew! Thank you imdb) and left the real Sclub stranded in Barcelona. Confused about why their manager has suddenly disappeared and why they are seeing themselves in America performing live shows when they are stuck in Barcelona with no money they decide to investigate. They travel to America (After being arrested and escaping prison) to find out they've actually been cloned. They decide to kidnap 3 of the clones and replace them with the real counterparts to discover why and how this has happened, Befriending the clones along the way. And thats the basic premise. Its no rocket science but it seems to work quite well.
What really did knock me back was some of the adult jokes. The pink vibrator that the Sclubs runner nearly gives them with their passports and the whole shower scene where Sclub get Naked (I kid you not!) to name but 2.
Anyway.. I wasn't expecting much. I saw this film as favour to my Girlfriend as we took her little sis but i actually really enjoyed it and found myself laughing quite a bit (Much to my Girlfriends dismay)
Anyway.. Dont be closed minded... Give it a shot. I have a feeling a Cam is gonna be here anytime........................NOW!
I give Sclub : Seeing Double 7.8 / 10

I was waiting for the review of this. How did I know it would be you? lol
Seriously though, I'm defo gonna see this. That wee Hannah bird is tasty!
I'm gonna work on the gf today and see if she'll "treat" me to a night at the cinema watching SClub!
Before Sclub7 became Sclub they were doing some TV show in Glasgow and they were staying in the hotel that is joined onto a pub we drink in. When they came in the barman ID'd them and only 2 of them were 18, fuckin hilarious, they were all "Do you know who I am" piss funny. Then my 25 stone mate chased one of the chicks round the pub, I've never seen a girl look more terrified!
Billy
