What is the best standalone DVD

In your opinion what is the best standalone DVD player?
one that plays most formats without a problem.

havent seen an apex but have tried alot of standalone and still cant knock the Dansai 852 plays everything and searches sub menu's for under a £100 its tops

Pioneer 444 for the person who wants a top brand name and a better chance of the parts lasting over time and Apex 1500 for the budget concerned buyer. Both do the same and both are great.

The Dansai 852 is the business. My pals has 3, and they take anything he can throw at them.

You could try the Naiko 2051. Same insides, but it's got the 5.1 sound outputs as well.

pioneer dv-343 $230

plays and reads DVD, CD-R/W, DVD-R, VCD, SVCD without any choppiness...

Dansai rocks, i have one of the 852 models

No Macrovision
Region Free

£99.49 if you can get them anymore at your local tesco's

One of the best dvd players out! (got mine a long time ago now, even before the remote control hack was found)

My Daewoo 3000n plays pretty much anything... vcd, dvd, svcd, mp3, jpegs... I paid $85 for it.

Personally if you got a good set up and a nice amp and speakers the Sony 725d ive had for 3years now is the bollox...
Watchin dvds on this baby is a pleasure....
On the down side it dont play all the new formats so ive had to bite the bullet and buy a cyberhome 528L.
The picture qual aint as good as the sony but hey i can watch svcds dvdrs and the rest..

Sony 725D for the true dvd lover.
