Movie Ratings

I've never posted on a forum here yet, but I have been frequenting the page quite oftenly for the past 1.5-2 years... I was looking at the new releases tonight when a thought came to me... For each release, people vote on the video quality, the audio quality, and the movie quality... Well why should movie quality votes change with each release? For example, I saw that "XX / XY"'s ratings range from 1.0 to 9.5... My idea was that maybe you could change the code so that all votes go towards the same rating per movie, rather than per release. This way whenever someone voted on a title, regardless of which release they're voting on, the vote would just be added to the total polls for that title. Just a late-night, nothing-better-to-do thought. Let me know what ya think.

I plan on implementing that into the new version of the site i'm working on..

Cool ... while we're on the subject, I would very much enjoy seeing the total number of votes on a release right there next to the ratings. The way it works currently, I have to click on the ratings and then click on that non-obvious link to the list of votes in order to see how many people have voted. It doesn't really do me any good to see a 9/9/7.5 on the front page if I can't trust that that's not just one person hyping his group's release.

I don't know exactly where you'd get the extra space to put that number, though. I was picturing a format like ...

8.3/8.0/6.8/14

to indicate that there have been 14 votes. Do you think you could add something like that, X? 'twould be purty.

hmmm I thought i had it where ya move your mouse over the ratings and wait a sec and it gives you a break down of everything.. i'm gonna have to double check it..

How bout an addittion to make a row to show the films rating..ya kno PG-PG13-R-NC-17

you couldnt really have it show total votes for a movie because peopel vote on every release there would be double votes in there unless you restricted the voting to one vote per ip on the movie rating???

another cool thing to add would be a rls group breakdown top 10 who has most releases what they are etc...that be kinda coo

if need help with scripting let me know im very farmiliar with vbulletin

also i have written a little prog in vb that alerts me when a new movie is posted on vcdquality pm me or email me if you want it
