For The Rap Fans Out There..

I cant see why this film will be made but ..hey..

Stallone`s SCANDAL
ROCKY actor to write/direct new pic

Sylvester Stallone is writing and will direct RAMPART SCANDAL, a new film based on the murders of rap stars Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls. The picture will also touch upon the controversial element of police corruption within the LAPD and how it affected the investigations of Shakur and Smalls' murders.

Stallone will also star in the film as Detective Russell Poole, the real-life cop who investigated the murder of Smalls and promised his family that he would find out who killed him. The film may also star Death Row Records exec Suge Knight.

Filming is expected to commence on September 1. The movie is being produced by Franchise Pictures, whom with Stallone made the films GET CARTER and DRIVEN.

I guess Rocky VI was panned. Oh well, too old for Rocky actually. This may be a good part for Sly.

i dont care for rap whatsoever... but this is one of the worst ideas i have heard of. i mean come on... somethings should be laid to rest and this is one of them. if u are gonna make a motion picture on a murder mystery, fucking pick The Black Dahlia Murder. that is older and has more of a twist to it.

Oh come on, can't they think of a more interesting murder to cover? Wooo how original, Stallone can pitch it as The Pledge meets 8 Mile, that's a guaranteed greenlight. Fuck Biggie, fuck Tupac, and fuck Stallone for trying to make a comeback.

Uh huh.

So tell me, why should I care about a movie about 2 murders that weren't epic investigations, and are going to need a hell of a lot of exaggerating in the screenplay to be even remotely interesting. It was a shame for the people who worshipped those guys to see them get killed, but it doesn't mean there should be a movie about it.
I feel kind of bad about the fuck Tupac comment, because I did respect his acting in the few movies he did. But Stallone and Biggie can definately kiss my ass.

Posted by KayDawg on 06-08-2003 06:16 AM:

I didn't say you have to care. But your comment was stupid and pointless. If you don't give a crap about Pac or Biggie shut the hell up rather than spew your filth into this forum.

I care , and a lot of other fans care(fans of their music). How is it hard to understand that?

Posted by Bobby-Whiskey on 06-08-2003 10:09 AM:

Filth eh.

I'm just stating my opinion, which I thought was the point of a forum, whether you agree with me or not I could care less. But to put it less harsh I'll just say that the last thing NON-rap/Biggie/Tupac fans need is another trashy movie designed to cash in on the deaths of 2 people (You KNOW it'll make millions thanks to 8 Mile's success, the rap fans can't get enough). How do I know it'll be trash? Stallone is writing, directing, and STARRING in it. Maybe in the hands of someone with talent, it could actually be a project worth checking out, until then, I have no faith in it. Sorry that I offended you Kay
