hmmmm

just to clarify lol Yes a scr from 1978, that was never released to anyone at all it is a test piloit used to sell the evil dead series to Anchor Bay studios.

Question Within the woods

I agree - a screener from 1978 -- i dont believe this movie had a screener- since it was college project and never premiered in any festivals

really doubtful screener unless the team can prove other wise and besides all the copies i have seen of this short film are of very low quality -- so i dont expect better from this

Posted by ^Om3n on 04-14-2002 05:04 AM:

thats what i was wondering, besides that the quality is shocking, what a waiste seriously why bother

Cool

after tmmvcd released a telesync of a 1982 movie just recently ( E:T), nothing surprices me

Posted by Visigoth on 04-14-2002 05:27 AM:

Okay I can't say anything about the quality, but the movie much better than a 2.9. You guys lick balls if you think this great short film by Sam Raimi is a 2.9.

Posted by b0nk3r on 04-14-2002 05:29 AM:

LMAO, wtf is this? so ugly

Unhappy lol

can we expect a proper LOL

Posted by KingEdgar0 on 04-14-2002 08:13 AM:

Yeah. Sam Raimi and the guys made this movie before Evil Dead, As an experiment with the genre, and to have something to show the investors. For Evil Dead fans such as myself this is a very cool release.

I am sure the quality won't be very good. It was shot a long time ago, and probably on crappy film.

Posted by Tim Mcmanus on 04-14-2002 08:36 AM:

can u believe quality more crappy than an FTF release?

video is terrible...but the audio kinda makes up for it being decent.

anywayz itz free..so watch it

peace

Nice to see people posting when they don't have a clue, as usual.

Its a 70s short film, shot by amateurs (at the time) which went on to become one of the most important pieces in American Horror history. What do you expect? dolby surround? anamorphic widescreen? it aint gonna happen. of course its gonna be shitty, hell Evil Dead was the "final" product, and that was shot on 16mm, which was an upgrade for them!

Basically, if your not a hardcore horror fan, this release obviously isn't for you, so dont download, and dont bother commenting.

what i want to know.......

how can ppl rate a release that we know you don't have yet, I for one welcome any and all comments about our 1978 vhs tape that even the nfo says it is. Now do this.... grab it watch it and then post a comment I don't care what the comment is but still wait to actually have this release.

Posted by cosmic on 04-14-2002 12:56 PM:

amen!

Posted by PenisXX on 04-14-2002 01:33 PM:

cool release! nuff said.

Posted by godmoney on 04-14-2002 03:03 PM:

yeah

i know for a fact there were no screeners. Having read up on this film a while ago, Sam would bring a small movie projector and screen (often he used sheets) to investor's homes or their companies. The main purpose of this movie was to gain income to make evil dead, and i doubt they'd have the money to produce and dub screener tapes.

Plus, this isn't a release worth commending, i've found the very same thing on Kazaa and binary newsgroups many times. PTP just probably downloaded from Kazaa, and used Xing mpeg encoder or some shit like that

laterz

there is no actual reason for this to be released, though i would love to see it, i will wait till it is released with the Evil Dead DVD Box Set being released this year. Or so i have heard rumors about.

Posted by Krakt-Hed on 04-14-2002 10:20 PM:

sheesh, it's one thing to talk about the quality of the release, that's why this forum is here....but to say "it shouldn't have been released" is just fuckin' retarded

LOL... if that were the attitude why bother releasing any movies when you can just wait to see them on dvd... i want to know... has anyone that flamed actually seen the vcd yet...? cause its pretty lame when i see 14 people had voted before they even saw the sample. anyone who knows anything knows that this is a bad ass rare release and it was released soley for those people. so if you are going to flame without seeing the vcd go over to isonews they like that kind of bullshit
