Divx or not to Divx
My pioneer plays all formats you throw at it except Divx, I was reading up on divx and found its all to do with a chip, is there anyway to upgrade your player to include divx, can anyone enlighten me if this is possible,
cheers,
The Wabbit
I doubt pioneer will release anything for your dvd player that plays divx without making you buy a totally new dvd player. doubtfully possible to just change a chip in your player to make it support divx. if it was easy there would be mods for it by now
For consumer electronics DVD players the decoder is integrated into the chip. Since the CPU of the Pioneer player doesn't already have the Divx decoder built in, then it's not something which can just be added in the future.
You'll have to buy a new DVD player for Divx playback
