ok, is there a very "slight" desync in sample? Someone pointed it out to me, and I checked, and it seems there might be a very slight desync...

Damn!
Nice release CTP!

After downloading the movie.. I've changed opinion.. some flikkering but not much..
Sound is ok, not super clear but ok..

8/7.5/?

wow, what can i say, no angle, amazing sharpness, good colors, i jizzed my pants when i saw this, well not really but its that nice...sound is perfectly fine too, no buzz...9/9/x Id give it 10/10 but Finding Nemo they did still outdoes this.

:: After watching, this release owns, no cropping really at all, video is specatacular, the brightness just gets better sometimes, it doesnt really effect anything, and the sound is amazing....i still give it a 9/9/10....movies action owned...

Video looks nice... it's a little too dark (mainly around the edges), slightly blurry, and the colors aren't as vibrant as previous CTP releases but I didn't notice an angle in this one. The brightness/colors also seems to fade in and out like TcS's Pirates of the Caribbean not to mention a little too much motion blur but so far that's the only downside, I can't tell how much is cropped without watching the whole thing so I'll resume this review after I watch it. Audio is also kind of muffled and out of sync in the sample, I'll re-examine that also after I watch the film. 7/7/9

Finally!!!
picture seems to be a bit dull, to much contrast it seems
sound is pretty good, though it does seem just a tad out of sync
(just from sample mind you)
movie, well...can't say but the first one was good and this one has some pretty good reviews
will update after I've watched the movie..

8/7.5/?

Good movie, but this is probably the only time I've seen the Centropy didn't get the color right on the money. Very close, but usually they are more exact then this release.

I give it an 8/8/?.. It is really kinda dark..

Posted by duomo on 07-25-2003 06:06 AM:

Based on the sample, the audio and video are both very good in this release. That being said, there is a colour/brightness flicker, and the sound is a bit hollow (and slightly out of synch). Anyway, the colours are generally sharp, and the sound is reasonably clear.

This isn't by any stretch the best release I've seen, but still, quite strong.

8/7/7

7/7/?

And yeah, been waiting for them to release PotC. Can't take my 2 year old.. although, he did make it through the IMAX Blue Angels movie today. Granted it was only 45 mins and he fell asleep half way through.. heh.

Centropy doesn't release everything. Be thankful for what you get.

Little dark, colors kinda dull.

6/7/?

Wow, sample is on the money. i'm a huge critic of ctp, but i do have to admit... if the sample is reflective of this movie, i will give due credit. Keep this up, and i'll be expecting your releases more often.

nice one.. been waiting for this.

I just finished watching all of CD1 and video is nice but it caused a huge migraine (maybe I shouldn't watch it with the lights off). The brightness fades in and out every few seconds (extremely annoying) and the colors switch off from decent to dull throughout the CD. If you're an epileptic then you should pass because I'm not one and it even gave me a headache. The top/bottom/right are cropped quite a bit (compared to TcS's and I also saw this in theatres), and the video is slightly tilted upwards on the right side (very noticeable during the Don Simpson/Jerry Bruckheimer logo). Audio is as I said before, muffled and throughout CD1 the lipsync would go in and out. Since I saw this in theatres already I think I'll just wait for the screener but if you must see it, this IS the best version out. Well there goes my 2 cents, I hope it helped some of ya. I'm retracting my previous 7/7/9 for 6/6/9, very subpar for a CTP release... It would be nice if you guys repacked this
