Seabiscuit Movie Review

Oscar is the best way to dethe backdrop should describe the new drama based on the best seller by Laura Hillenbrand tells the stories of these three men and the horse against the backdrop of the 1930's depression.

The story has a classic knowledge of a sports movie, only downside of there is one, the movie starts off really slow, but picks up steam, and knocks the movie out of the park with Oscar written over it.

Tobey Maguire gets top billing for this movie but the movie really belongs to Jeff Bridges in another Oscar Callibar performance.

Bridges plays Charles Howard, who starts out as a bicycle salesman, and after a long haul becomes a millionaire who buys a farm and turns the stables into a garage.

After a family tragedy, however, he changes directions and becomes a horse owner and breeder.

He meets up with Pollard, (Maguire) a former prize fighter-turned horse jockey and Smith, played by oscar winner Chris Cooper (Adaptation) a horse trainer. Howard has everything in place but a horse.

Smith has an encounter with an unruly horse named Seabiscuit, but through faith, and Pollard's insistence of being the jockey, they turn Seabiscuit into a racing horse.

Director Gary Ross brings us as close to the action as possible, we feel the sweat blood and tears of horse racing.

Hall of Fame Jockies Gary Stevens and Chris McCarron are consultants for this movie, making it a legitimate Sporting movie.

Seabiscuit is rated PG13 for crude talk, sexual situations, and violent sports-related images

Seabiscuit is 2 Horse and 20 minutes long and opens on July 25, 2003

Seabiscuit gets a 9.5 out of 10.

Definitely time for another feel good movie in the mold of Rudy. I am looking forward to see this myself.

I enjoyed this movie, its a good family movie. I thought it was one of the better movies of the year and the movie was well written.

Great movie! I loved it
