-- The Italian Job *PROPER* - SCREENER - OBUS (http://www.vcdhq.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=25182)

Looks exactly the same as VXr's release from the sample *n stated in the nfo* , sounds good , full screen , bit grainy. Got Screener counter bottom right. Just picked up the sample so I dont know if this release has sound throught the whole movie or not.

7/8/7

Lol i was about to say that to. Exact vhs graniness as the vxr. It looks exactly the same source. Just they did it right, as far as i guess. Havent gotten to get this yet. Had gotten vxrs... just got sample on this one til i get time.

From Sample

Video : Nice quality - limited pixilation and no blur. Colors are strong too. Small counter on the bottom right, hardly noticeable.

Sound : Great, clear and audiable at the correct volume.

Thanks for a nice screener OBUS!

8/8/7 - I thought the movie was pretty good, and am gonna watch it again.

Quality was subpar imo as far as screeners go. There were too many squiggly-ish lines floating around and colors seemed off not to mention the grainy-ish problem. I don't know, since I mainly watch screeners I might have gotten too used to TCF's quality. 6/8/8

Thumbs down

I thought that this released looked more like a screenprint than a screener.

reason why: well screeners usually have msg for screening purposes and not one of those counters.

still i give it 6/6/8

Not a bad release, ok pic & sound

6/6/4

Seems you know very little about screeners. every paramount screener has markings like this. counter bottom right and a message popping up every 15 minutes in the bottom left

Now for my comments,

Quality is pretty good judging from the entire movie. there is one small hickup on cd1 but not a big deal, sound is perfect. movie was so-so liked the original better.

3 questions come to mind when i now burned this and poppin it in my dvd player/ One, was the capture card used really shitty.. It is pretty blocky... u can tell.. 2) was the encoding done badly.. Maybe it would have been better if this was an svcd. Iw ould have sure loved a vcd and an svcd sample to compare with.

decent screener thought it could have been a bit better but props for the audio fix not much else i enjoyed the movie (seen far worse remakes)

So they fixed those 15 min of missing sound?
EDIT
Ya they did, watched it. 8/8/8, Great movie - original, exciting even, one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.

i cant even watch this, i have old beta tapes that look better than this.

but the sound is AMAZING.

overall a dissapointment.

4/8/X

i was going to watch this, but the quality is so bad.

dont know what the fuss is about, theres a ticker on the bottom right, but it looks good, i guess compare it to identity scr or the first recruit screener, youre not gonna get tcf quality on these for some reason, but its definitely not a 4.

7.5/8.5/9

dont care what people say about the original, or how norton was forced into doing this, the plot kept me in it, which is more than i can say for tomb raider or bad boys2.

Good sound, but the pic is grainy/blocky. Ah well... good release, just not as good as some screeners have been as of late.

6/8/?

This looked ok... however i've seen telecines and telesyncs better then this. I'm surprised that a dvd screener/rip of this movie is not out yet.

Nice effort by OBUS and VXr to release this screener. Sound is great.

Mak.

Posted by lickmyzack on 08-06-2003 01:52 PM:

What good is a screener if the the Telesync is better?
Picture is blurry, definetly not from an original VHS screener source, more like 2nd or 3rd generation source, the audio however is decent. A screener transfered from an original VHS screener source would give you quite decent video, however that's not the case here.

6/8/8

this is a proper? i think centropy's is a bettr RLS....probably a proper due to a higher rip (screener beats TS)
