doesnt look like a ts too me. full screen w/good sound. some will want to wait for the scr, but this is the best out of the 3 rls's so far. if you're a RE fan who wants to revisit, dl it. if not wait for the scr i guess..

I doubt this is a telecine, if it is its a pretty average one. This is more than likely a very good telesync, note how the colour fades in and out just like a camera does, also i must say strange how its a fullscreen telecine seeing this was supposed to be dubbed off the reel.

i dont care if its ts or tc to be honest, proprs to them for this either way, pic is much better tha the previous versions

ok.....

in the centropy version of this film, there are some scenes, every 10 minutes or so, when the top 5% of the screen is black, i dunno its weird and hard to explain.... look out for it!

and i thought that centropy had filmed res evil a few times and slotted the versions together (as its a telesync)- hence some had darker bits at the top and some didn't (and some parts had buzzier sounds too!)

BUT - this 'telecine' version has the darker bit every 10 minutes or so aswell!

SO - Is this part of the film (why would it be??)

OR- Is this some kind of proper from centropy release!

I know its long winded, and i'm probably just being paranoid or something, but it just seemed a little strange!

OT: the dark bit you can see at the top is a part of the camera (dunno what it's called in english tho) and the reason you can see it is because the movie was not cropped (which is the final editing step). dunno where CTP filmed that reel, but what was rls'ed by ctp was not the final cinema reel.
so, but it is also not cut together from different takes.

haven't seen this version yet, so can't say if it's the same reel version. sample looks great tho.

I've seen both releases to and did notice the black line at the top that shows up every few minutes....i bet it is a proper of CTPs release!

with performance like this... rlsing good movies, great quality, i would take a uti rip on spiderman or deuces wild.
Centropy + UTI = The Best ;D

gee, it seems pretty obvious that ppl who have voted and commented have commented purely on the screenshot, this is not a telecine at all, its a telesync. Telecines don't have a light source that fade in and out because they are a direct source. Doesn't it also seem strange that a group who release cam's can also release telecine's - considering the equipment is expensive and the chances of anyone allowing you to do it are also remote.

WHY IS IT NUKED

So what if its a Telesync its better than CenTropY thats for Sure

this is better then all of them out there, good work!

Posted by champmeister on 05-05-2002 07:25 PM:

this is a TS. However, there HAVE been TC's that are fullscreen..a perfect example is the Impostor TC released by TFE. That was from Asia and was fullscreen.

This is from Asia too and i think its safe to say that anything from asia these days are at best Telesyncs. Production of TCs have stopped for the past 3-4 months.

Peace.

When watching the print (NOT just the sample, like most people/nukers) i came to the following conclusions. This is just what I thought and NOT guaranteed fact, but I do not think this is Telesync source. If it is, then I think we are talking about very professional equipment, not standard DV cam and headphone socket job.

I think any mislabel is more likely accidentally, if this is in fact not a telecine.

1. The flicker on the print is on apparent on playback on PC, on a TV screen this is barely noticable
2. It is definitely a 4:3 print. theres no crops to the top/bottom or left/right, and during the intro and another part of the movie, there is parts that are in 4:3 letterbox, with correct aspect ratio
3. Any motion blur is from the limitations of the VCDs bitrate, not a camera
4. The credits at the end are very sharp, and perfectly centered
5. Colour tones are very accurate with no bleed
6. Cigarette burns in the top right, proving its from a theater reel (as opposed to a mastered tape) and also that the image is not cropped in anyway

Just an opinion, flame all you like, but most people who flamed already would have done so before having access to the whole print it seems. Don't judge a whole movie (especially its source) off 1min of video on a computer monitor, probably played at full screen.

I'd be interested if anyone was able to prove me wrong, as this was only done from around 5-10mins skipping thru the disc set.

UTi Res Evil = Telecine. if not, pretty sure not a TS. Should've been nuked off sites ? hell no.
