Thumbs up Review: Matchstick Men (2003)

Well this is Nick Cage's first movie since the, in my opinion, very underated adaptation in 2002.

In the movie cage is an obsessive compulsive con artist that finally gets a chance to meet his 14 year old daughter. Eventually the two get close and Cage begins to teach his daughter about being a con-artist. Cage plays the obsessive compulsive role great. The little "ticks" he has in this movie add humour throughout the movie.

Overall the movie was very well put together, I never read the book so i cant say how close it was to the book but I enjoyed the movie. The ending is definately something that everyone will enjoy.

8/10

i saw this last night with my girlfriend and i really enjoyed. i believe i read somewhere that the girl who plays angela is actually like 26! I would recommend this movie if you like a light-hearted movie that can still be dramatic.

i dont think it was underated, it got a couple of oscar nominations and won one..if anything i think it was overated, chris cooper definately deserved his award for supporting actor but after watching this movie a few times i started to like it less. still a good movie though.

anyways im seeing matchstick men tonight, looking forward to it !
