-- Star Wars Episode 2 *PROPER* - TELESYNC - SEVcD (http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.php?threadid=2843)

Posted by Hirro on 05-12-2002 10:53 PM:

Just saw the sample and according to TMPEG's de-multiplex tool, the sample meets the NTSC VCD standards:

MEPG-1 Video 352x240 29.97 fps 1150kbps
MPEG-1 Audio Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps

Is TMPEG wrong or is this just mislabeled ... or is the sample a
re-encode of the SeVCD.?

Posted by Hitman47 on 05-12-2002 11:14 PM:

quality is decent, the picture is a tad blurry, but other then that, this is pretty watchable, unless your picky.... don't wait for the ctp ep2, they say they wont release it... we'll see... 7/7

Posted by phpdood on 05-12-2002 11:14 PM:

the sound sounds fairly decent, at least it's not hollowed

Posted by Arnaudt on 05-12-2002 11:17 PM:

Not a bad release - decent sound, pic is watchable ... shame we're not getting the CTP SVCD's :P I've already watched the FTF of this movie so i'm not gonna get this again but sample isn't bad ...

Posted by da100 on 05-12-2002 11:23 PM:

PS. Want Episode 2 in this quality? Dont count on us to bring it to you. the unwanted media attention the current releases has drawn has made us more than a little reluctant to put a release out. Having said that, we are sure someone else will come to the rescue, for all you Star Wars fans out there.

is the runtime really 1 hr 32 min as its stated in the nfo or was it just a typo?

Posted by Kale on 05-13-2002 12:46 AM:

looks good, I grabbed the FTF TS for this one but I think I'm gonna download this one also

Posted by bambambam on 05-13-2002 12:46 AM:

Yeah is this vid/aud better than the hafvcd release?

Posted by mrlexo on 05-13-2002 01:04 AM:

Yea good idea Centropy cuz who knows if they include those watermarks which could be unique to each theater and pinpoint the location where you do business. (If that's even how you do it heh....) Not worth it for one high profile release such as this one. Look forward to more releases from you guys in the future.

As for the quality of this movie, sound was decent and complete and the picture was clearer than the previous rls's but still a lil blurry to watch even on my tv. Otherwise, an excellent rls and props on the quickness of gettin it out.

Posted by Div on 05-13-2002 01:11 AM:

Looks like a reencode of the hafvcd version to me.

Posted by Diezel on 05-13-2002 01:26 AM:

This release is definately not a reencode of anyone else, its very well done, of course not as good as Centropy, but not bad

7/7

Angry Lot of misinformed opinions

Isonews has mislabeled this as a dupe.

What do the FTF, HafVCD and SeVCD rips have in common?

They all come from the same NYC source.

Someone, possibly the Mob, has made a VHS Telesync of the film using a high quality cam, and is selling it on the streets of New York. It's this, or copies of this, that the groups are going out and buying and encoding. (saves doing it yourselves right guys )

The FTF was at least a 3rd gen copy, probably more judging by the amount of VHS signal degredation, the HafVCD is clearer so is probably closer to the source than the FTF.

This copy is definitley taken from a 1st gen VHS, it comes from the same recording as the other 2 releases, which is why the audio is missing in the same places as the others, but in no way is it a dupe, or a re-encode of another group's release. The video and audio is of a higher fidelity, impossible to do with a re-encode.

This version is properly framed with a square picture, and doesn't suffer from single channel sound.

If you only download one pirate copy of star wars this summer, make it this one

Cool

... New to posting here, didn't know all posts were moderated :P

"Our first TS release for the group. Apologies for the source, we got this from an analogue cam instead of a dv, but still the best
copy thats available to date. Enjoy our release!"

A tad full of our selves now arent we? The best rls of it .... hmm
